I presume you mean because we reached the CL final last season we have progressed? Because we haven't progressed in the league. See below.

2015/16 - 70 points
2016/17 - 86 points
2017/18 - 77 points
2018/19 - 71 points
Point tallies are no marker for progression. They fail to take into account the competitiveness of the league at the time.

For example Liverpool and City were poor in 16/17. Arsenal and United were even worse. We also had punching bags like Stoke.

We've certainly regressed but I don't think this is a true barometer

I just don't understand what our tactics are anymore. With exception of playing the ball out from the back and I guess trying for the quick counter, I just don't understand we don't press but we don't sit deep. And the amount of different formations and line ups Poch has put out just make me more concerned. I really don't like the idea of getting rid of Poch, but Im also loosing a lot of faith in his tactical knowledge. But all that being said, I do wonder how things would be different if we didn't go a season without buying a single player and then fail to get rid of the players that don't want to be here. The one thing I know is, I'm finding it harder and harder to justify paying for my season ticket and in general don't get remotely excited to watch us even on the TV.

why do you want to keep him if you think he’s tactically lacking? ?

SAF wasn’t great tactically, but had a great staff around him. Poch has a humongous staff around him. And you would believe he can learn from where he is weak. I also like him a lot, and want him to succeed. Hope that helps.

Been chatting to my old man about this. He said if mourinho came in that'll be the end of his 64 years of supporting us. He hates Jose that much.

He came through the Terry O’Neil and George Graham spells but Jose is too much??

This is the second time i'm reading that today. I wonder if that is also a point of contention. Having a club within a club doesn't sound good.

"A drawback to Pochettino is his sizeable, mainly Spanish-speaking backroom team. Bayern are wary of creating a club within a club and would like have a German speaker in charge. "

Poch is no SAF unfortunately mate. I don’t believe after five years he will ever learn to be tactically better. If Poch hasn’t learnt now I doubt he ever will. Liking someone isn’t a valid enough excuse to stick with him either.

I am sure you can take it in context. Can you not? I have backed him, and still do (totally) and hope we acquire 4-6 points next 2 games. If he only acquires 1 point I cannot then continue to back him.
Are you Daniel Levy? ? If so, do it now. Two more games with 1 point will be another 5 points wasted.

I'm sorry but my love for Spurs is greater than any feeling I may have for any manager or player.
I can't understand people who would turn their back on the club because of someone who will only be there short term.

I've never been a Mourinho fan, although he has grown in me since he's been out of work but if he's the man to turn our fortunes around, then I'll back him.

I can't think of anything that would make me stop supporting this great club.

Why would Levy build this stadium for a mid table team it makes no sense. This is my idea on the situation. They will hang on to Pochettino till CL is mathematically impossible. The pluses of doing this are of course he could turn it around in 2 weeks. But if he fails it gives Levy some justification. Also say this happened around Xmas time it opens up the possibility of a caretaker manager. With the season already a write off bar CL a caretaker would give them breathing space. If they sack him now they have to appoint someone else immediately who is instantly under pressure. By doing it with the season a write off and using a caretaker they can take their time and make sure they get the right guy in a good time frame. The new guy can then have the summer to get acclimatised and much better all round. And this was obviously the way they did it last time and it worked.

I personally don’t want him rid. I will back him totally. But as I said earlier; if we only achieve 1 point in our next 2 games, then sorry he goes. Nobody more than me want him to succeed. On a tactical front he is seriously lacking. It is not just Trippier who felt that. Read between the lines of his comments. Quite a few of the present players are miffed at his tactics.

I don't really get this. You want him to stay, but are giving him two more games?

So if there's another two drab performances and we manage to scrape two points you're happy for him to stay?

My mind was made up after Brighton. We could manage one win from the next two, and still be exactly the same for the rest of the season.

I think we're past the game by game results phase.

You either believe in him for the long term or you don't, that's the way I see it.

And I think it's broken.
