We can't lower expectations whilst the club are charging the eye-watering prices that they do. So even though I'd be aghast if we moved for a Howe-type rather than a Mourinho-type, the silver lining to that dark cloud is that maybe such an appointment would lift the scales from people's eyes on the Board and attendances would drop at the new stadium. Which you'd hope would be the catalyst for the club to either lower its ticket prices, or alternatively start acting on the pitch like a club who can justify its highest-in-the-world ticket prices.

Not going to happen though, the ENIC gravy train will keep rolling on.
Just like to point out that you again find yourself on the same side of a debate as someone that you know is always wrong. Jus sayin. Step 1 to re-evaluation. It's a trap. Don't go towards the light.

It's possible, just possible, that this person supported Tottenham before joining SC.
Yeah, long time supporter showing up right before the CL final. Sure, it's possible. I bet you it's happening on RAWK right now...and Blue Moon for the last 10 years...and The Shed End since about 2004.

After losing the Champions League final in 2018, Klopp didn't sulk in his house for weeks on end and pretty much act like his one shot at winning the biggest trophy was gone for good. He kept perspective and used that success to push his team forward and actually win it the next season.

It almost seems like the CL final defeat has harmed us rather than push us forward. Talking about maybe quitting if we won was so damaging. It was such an all or nothing, short term attitude. It didn't then make sense to talk about a 'painful rebuild' and a 'new phase' of a project. Talk about mixed signals: is he completely invested in a major project, or one result away from quitting?

It doesn't inspire confidence but rather mistrust and confusion.
You are not allowed to say that, Klopp didn't sulk because he went and spent a Billion pounds on a goalkeeper and a midfielder that he needed thats why they moved forward from that loss.

Poch has bought two £50m plus midfielders (both first choice signings). It’s comparable to the money Klopp spent if not on the exact same level.

I don’t think anyone expected us to go and win the CL this season, but the negativity from Poch is inexplicable.

Simple, 3 wins from the next 3 before the international break otherwise he has to go. A draw and I'm done, we are throwing away too many valuable points now and it's going to cost us, there is still a little bit of hope that we can get back on track if we can go on a run which we are more than capable of but it has to start now, no more excuses. We all knew the Liverpool game was a tough task. Win against Everton and build on that, draw or lose and he has to be replaced because the atmosphere in the home game against Sheffield United could be pretty toxic.

Quite. The more I see and hear of Poch over the years the more I know he just isn’t a winner. Not at the level of proper elite managers. I’m now convinced more than ever that in fact Poch’s management career will probably have peaked at Spurs rather than us being a stepping stone for him elsewhere.

Put it this way, if he went to United or anywhere else, do you honestly get the feeling he would deliver trophies?? If we came up against a Poch managed side in a final or semi final and we had another manager like Mourinho or a Conte, I’d be very confident of winning. I wouldn’t be worried at all. He’s a nearly man. His previous jobs were Espanyol and Southampton ffs.

We've been performing at mid-table level for the whole of this calendar year and that unfortunately is a fact. Level on points with West Ham in the last 28 games and behind the likes of Palace and Wolves. Everton & Burnley have only picked up one less point than us in that time and Newcastle only two less. Anyone who thinks that isn't alarming needs to wake up:

He’s had plenty of time to turn it around.

Fucking hell people were saying that before the Brighton game. People keep moving the goalposts its laughable.

I keep seeing posts like if he starts Eriksen again that’s it! He needs to go. Ffs we were saying that months ago. When do you draw the line? People just keep giving him more time when are just getting worse and worse.

we were a Cats whisker away from losing to Watford at home. it should by rights read 3 losses out of 3.

Sorry to say it’s got to the point than I want to see us thrashed on Sunday against Everton so Poch is sacked and we can all move on. A bit of short term pain. We might see us get a spawny win Which just prolongs the suffering and will do us no good whatsoever.

So far in 2019

0 wins in 11 away games.
6 wins from 23 league games
23 defeats from 45 games

We've lost a total of 69 games from 287 under Poch.

Before 2019, the record was 242 played, and only lost 46. Astonishing how anyone can continue to defend the man. This is not a blip in form.
I think it is fine. We have already played Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Leicester, who else, so really the rest of the season is a walk in the park. A very slow, tedious, sideways walk with the wrong guys around you and a lack of ability to find the way out.

Trouble is, I think he would've gone by now so clearly he is going to be in charge against Everton so until he is gone we have to continue to back the team and hope they can turn it around.

I am fed up with his attitude and team selections but what else can we do? At this rate, it feels like we don't want to pay the compensation and would rather he walked but that isn't going to happen.

Yesterday's performance against Liverpool isn't as bad as many are moaning about.
We lost 2 1 because of s stupidity from our RB.

Some players played very well and tried their best.
Aurier and Eriksen didn't convince me.

Ndombele and lo celso will be fantastic for us.
I think Lamela, Son,Kane, a fit Alli and Lucas with those two is excellent creativity and attack. Obviously the problem is defensive.

All we need is a DM and RB imo.

Can someone explain to me why we don't play Dier or Foyte at RB?

I totally agree with this, but at the same time I'm far convinced Poch is the right man for the job going forward. I'm losing all faith in him tactically. Coming on SC I'm a bit shocked at the reaction like you seem to be, but I think everyone has hit the point I was at after Brighton and Watford. I was expecting a certain selection and improvement in effort going into those and was horribly let down. I had no real expectations going into this one.

Yesterday I did think the players were playing for him which is a positive at least (even Eriksen and Dele being poor I'd put down to form/confidence and unsuited roles ahead of effort), because it seems Levy is going all in on backing Poch for better or worse.

When anyone takes on a new job, he must deliver what his employers demand.
Poch , until this season, has delivered what his employers demanded and MORE.
It has been widely known that DL asked Poch to get us close to the top4 when we move into the new stadium.
Lets give Poch all the credit for not only delivering this, but way more, CL every season the last 4 and a final ofc.

For all the above achievements he imo deserves time to sort out this season's mess.
By time i mean give him january window , get him a few players he desperately needs, hopefully GLC,Sess and his potential new buys will start playing and we get back on track.

If however we carry on like we are now, and by the end of the season we are mid-table and playing like we are now, then i do think he will in trouble and DL will have a big decision to make despite their friendship.

I hope we all give him at least that.

and how long do you think that'll last?
They're the ones paying for filet mignon and getting a turd sandwich every other week.

Well naturally that'll start to swing should we have a negative result against Sheffield United. However, we're much further away from than the venting you see online.

Look I'm all for giving the man time if he's making progress with the squad he isn't doing that. He is being stubborn, playing players that shouldn't be playing, dropping the ones that should, not making subs when he should, contradicting himself in the media...why does he deserve more time?
