I really do not like Poch right now but I just think that when we have that one creative genius in the middle pulling the strings, things will change. The Eriksen situation should have sorted out in the summer, full stop. He is our De Bruyne. With him downing tools we lose the attacking prowess.

I honestly feel Poch has lost the plot! The starting line up made no sense. 3 at the back at home to a team who’ve only scored 4 goals in8 games which means one less attacking player against the team with the worst defense in the league!
In form players like Lamela and N’Dombele(even if he only has 60 minutes in the tank) dropped while players out of form(or seemingly uninterested) like Rose, Toby, Verts,Sissoko and even you could say Kane does not make sense if you are trying to get our mojo back.
Going to a back 4 in 2nd half made sense but I’ve no real idea what the formation/tactics were? Why Son on the right when he’s more effective on the left? Where was Moura playing? He was lively in the first half but disappeared after the substitution. Wouldn’t have been better to have played Moura WR , Son WL and Deli at 10? As it was until Lamela came on Son was the only effective forward. Why was Winks(who had been more involved in forward play than anyone else in the first half) once again substituted instead of Sissoko whose only real contribution was to allow Decoure run past him to score?
Defensively we were dreadful. In the first half they got in behind Rose time and time again- led to their goal. In the second half time and time again they were in4 against 2, 3 against 2 etc. It’s like watching school kids.
We had god knows how many corners and we’d just keep pumping high balls into the box despite the fact they have a team of giants who just headed them away time after time. Did we not analyze their team, did we not work out some other more effective corner routines?
If Poch is going to continue picking the same failing players nothing is going to change and we could be in a relegation fight. Drop today’s 2nd half’s back 4. Play KWP, Davies, Foyth, Sanchez or Dier and Sess at the back. Play 433 with 3 of Winks, N’Dombele, LoCelso, Skipp in the middle. Have the balls to tell Kane that if he doesn’t pull his finger out and put more effort in he will be dropped. And play Lamela because he will run and hustle all day and he’s in his best form for ever. So that’s 2 others up front out of Kane, Deli, Son and Moura!
Keep continuing with the same disinterested players is a recipe for relegation. Poch is always talking about being brave well nows the time to be Brave - To Dare Is To Do

I'm afraid to say that in my opinion you should seriously consider reducing the dosage of medication that you are on.

Part of the problem is we have allowed ourselves to become far too dependant on Eriksen, which was a huge mistake in my view.
Kane also comes into that category in that as talented as he is, sometimes Poch just needs to put other players in and play a different way.
Kane is often a passenger these days.

Eriksen is no De Bruyne, but then we're no City.

The point is that he was our creative heartbeat, we've been abject when he doesn't perform for years and years, and we've never managed to ween ourselves off our dependency on him. It's little surprise that since he's quit on the club and hasn't performed to anywhere near his capabilities, we've been shit.

It's incredibly unfortunate that Poch finally got his hand-picked replacement but then hasn't been able to use him at all due to an injury sustained on international duty, but the problem has been festering for years and it's been a long-term collective failure of the entire club to address it which is now costing us.

It's actually scary when you think about it. Eriksen hasn't really missed many games over the years and the times when he hasn't been present were a lot of the time standout crap performances. Thinking about it we currently look like how we've done in the past when Eriksen has been unable to play.

Eriksen had been more than someone who contributed with goals and assists, he'd been almost solely responsible for us having any sort of fluidity as a team. You get him playing well or someone with his level of creativity and you may see the team piece together a little bit but as you also say, that's a massive problem too. It can't all fall to shit once one player is taken out/underperforming.

That's often the case but today there was a lot of crossing but not much on the end of them. Aurier hit 14 crosses and a lot of them were very decent. Lamela also had 14 although mostly corners.

In total we had 41 crosses. They had 4.
We did but not so many in the first half when we were playing three at the back with wing backs they nearly all came second half when we went four at the back, Lamela for example didn't come on until the 63rd minute.

That performance by sissoko yesterday was terrible. A headless chicken always out of position. We had a one man midfield because of him. How winks was subbed off and not him was bizarre.

Having just watched MOTD I think it most highlighted that we just need a whole new back line with Toby, Jan & Danny looking well off the pace and Aurier just a car crash waiting to happen.

How much worse would a back line of Sess/Vertonghen, Tanganga, Sanchez & Foyth really be compared to what’s going on now? Get either Sissoko or Dier to sit centrally in the DM slot.

I know Dele took some heat yesterday but he looked to me from the highlights like he cares with runs he made and might be starting to get his form back.

100% regarding Dele. Was in North lower and watched Dele quite a bit off the ball in the 1st half and he was really trying to make those runs. Think a purple patch is around the corner for him, just need people who can find him, which is the problem.

Need to play Ndombele and Lamela as much as possible, as those are our most creative players atm.

Agree re: Dele - certainly not back to his best but was putting in a real shift.

He's got every drop from these players for the last 5 years (have you forgotten) now it's time to move some of them on.
I disagree, I think most of these players have plenty more to give, either to us or someone else, and his inability to coach them to even a Carling Cup win j his 6 years is pretty shocking.

You may point to CL qualification as his great success, but realistically we were up there prior to his arrival, and since his arrival we have seen huge declines from Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea on and off, so to achieve that he really only needed to keep us around the same standard as we had been under Redknapp/AVB.

Dele looked better yesterday. Looking for work and his little tricks were sometimes coming off too. Pleasing to see in an otherwise dreary performance

The club definitely should have won something during this period but as we always see the club falls short the momentum has been lost and now we look just an average mid table side.
