Sure, when there’s a basis for comparison. Carrick is one of the best players to ever grace the field in the modern era, winks has had a handful of good games.

Wrd was right, you can compare styles.
For instance Winks is a very good recycler of the ball, finding the right man to pass to.Similar to Carrick.
Seb Stafford-Bloor wrote a nice piece and compared them.
It's difficult to compare Winks to too many players
Him not being a classical DM or CM (we havent seen him really in the CM role)

But their styles aren’t overly similar other than being deep lying centre midfielders who pass the ball. It’s like comparing ndombele with Dembele, I.e not relevant.

if anything carrick is more comparable to ndombele

Ridiculous argument
It's all relative to the rest of the players

Dont be ridiculous
When is the last time you saw Carrick hit a through ball or dribbled through 3 players?

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is planning to sell English midfielder Eric Dier, 25, 27-year-old Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, Ivorian defender Serge Aurier, 26, Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, 28, and 29-year-old English defender Danny Rose in January after his side's poor start to the season. That just leaves Alderweireld and Vertonghen...
Poch going for that 11-man squad. Keep it tight.

Well we all pretty much knew this was the case but now its confirmed and you can see why he hasnt sacked Poch and why the dressing room is a shambles at the moment. We're going to have the ride the storm whether we as fans like it or not it seems.

I think as you said wrd we all knew.
My problem is not that as much as Poch not putting that aside and making sure the players we had were ready to play and to stop making excuses.
In view of last years quality or lack of just showed where we really are despite some lucky results.
Without them seeing reality there will just be more excuses.

Redknapp adding fuel to the not changing up the squad fire.

Strange. It's not like Redknapp to talk publicly about these kinds of things. Normally he's quite reserved. Reading between the lines, something must definitely be afoot...

See, you just compared them.

You exaggerated how good Carrick was though.

DC has extremely solid relationships within the sporting industry. He is not one clubs, players, managers, agents love to use to manipulate their agenda. Not confirming what he is saying about Poch.
But he also spouts some shite aswell

Really hope this is one of those times where his info is wrong, Poch to United would be devastating.
would like to see him continue at spurs and fix this mess, if not he should leave England...

not that I really have a say in this ?

Cant see Poch going to United. It would be going against his character....there is the issue of respect for Sir Alex (I'm pretty sure) but think he would go to Madrid.
He hasn't totally proved himself.
So far his system, sort of Bielsas system has worked only to an extent but he hasn't gone further in development

It’s a sideways, possibly downwards, step for him to go to Man U. He might have had enough of it here but I don’t think so. I think he will have to be pushed rather than jump and I do t think levy has the stomach to sack him else it would of either happened in the summer of before now this season.

Rightly or wrongly I think he will be given the chance to rebuild this team. I have my doubts he can but there’s only one way to find out. Results and performances need to improve immediately. Anything but a good win on Saturday and I think thenext couple of months might not be very nice.

I think he will want to prove himself as winner and it would be courageous if he stayed to do that.
An uphill climb though.
I place more pressure on his ability to change the system to succeed than anything else

It really isn't

They're financially in a better spot, have a more successful recent history and a bigger fambase domestically and globally

They've struggled since Fergie But what makes you think Poch can't achieve in a year what he did with spurs after sherwood?

I'm all for being optimistic about our recent improvement but let's be realistic...it's still one of the biggest clubs in the world, and it was only two years ago they finished second - above us
