Thank you for a spanish article with no quotes or translation at all, really helpful. (y)
The article basically says that Eriksen would cost them €30m in January but that he wants to leave in June instead so that he could get a bigger sign-on bonus.

Real Madrid is short of midfielders due to injuries and is considering to push for a move since van de Beek told them that he will stay at Ajax until the summer.

I really don't understand all the hate for CE. It's like people want someone to blame for everything. He is certainly not playing his best football, but I don't see him not trying. The thing is the whole team is playing worse, and CE (like his teammates) needs a working team to perform at his best.

The way I see it:
CE has played worse than usual for most of this year - True.
Spurs has been worse than usual for most of the year - True.

I guess you could conclude it is all Eriksen's fault, but seems more likely it's the whole team that is not working. How many Spurs players have performed well this year? I guess some would argue Lamela, Son, Winks, but have they really consistently performed well? I doubt any Spurs player has amazing stats this year.

I will be proven wrong when Eriksen leaves and Spurs are back to playing their best football again.

It’s absolutely plain for all to see that he can’t be bothered and that’s why people want him gone.

I’ve always been an Eriksen supporter but I’m so cheesed off with his performances that I really do hope Poch drops him completely. Keeping him in the match day squad is just taking up a place for someone that does give a damn, even one of the young academy players would be a better option at the moment - Eriksen currently offers next to nothing on current form.

The difference between Eriksen and the rest of the misfits like Alder, Vert, Rose and Aurier is that we have ready and able replacements for Eriksen where as the others carry a significantly bigger risk especially being defenders. We can trust Lamela, Dele and Lo Celso to come in and do a decent job instead of Eriksen so it's easier to want him out of the team for the time being.

Well if Eriksen is holding out for a bumper deal on a free in the summer then I hope he gets what his last 12 months effort has deserved
maybe two quid no change that two bob .
This man is stinking the place out and in no small way contributing to the seeming lack of effort of course he is not the only one and myself for one would be happy to take the punishment of a poor season if all the players either not trying or not caring or playing not to get injured were pushed to one side until reinforcements are brought .
I take hope in that we have Le Celso /Sess / Foyth / still to appear plus the promise of Parrot and Tanganga .

It's not all Eriksen's fault and he is fully entitled to pursue the best option for him and his family. My take on it is that he represents the uncertainty that surrounds the squad and that is why he is getting picked out more than the others (plus it's frustrating because we know what he is capable of).

The key question is what kind of man management is needed for this particular player in relation to exactly when he is leaving. Has he always been picked in his previous teams? Would a jolt and demotion/dropping create a positive reaction. How is he best motivated? That's Pochs job and the player himself as a professional.
On the other hand he could just be very, very worried about his hair.

One year left on his contract. People on here need a scapegoat, same with Walker.

Eriksen is no shittier than most of our players atm.
They only don't blame them even half as much as Eriksen. Quiet sad really..

I personally think there is an element of truth to this. It happens with all players. People pick and choose their favorites and scapegoats and will attack and defend them as staunchly as they can.

Eriksen has always had poor/quiet spells for us. There have always been those questioning his commitment and work-rate during these spells.

He is playing poorly at the moment, and whilst I get why people's frustrations are aimed at him, we aren't exactly flying and not shipping goals when he isn't playing.

Marca reporting Real willing to offer £25m for him in January. Tbh I’d bite their hands off for that.

Yeah it sounds like its going to happen.

Real Madrid would be wise to pay up and take him in january rather than wait. Whether the player sees it the same is something else. Imagine if Eriksen sat his contract out and then Madrid still didn't fancy him in the summer. It would be mildly amusing.
