What's the problem with only going when you can afford it?
How is someone supposed to go to a game if they haven't got the money to?

Well done, you are obviously a superfan and far more loyal than ony other fan, you fucking trooper.
You also come across as a bit of a dick though, from this post at least.

Maybe have some consideration for people's circumstances, before jumping on your high and mighty horse of righteousness.

The point you have bolded is MY EXACT POINT. I am saying people should only go if they can afford it and are happy to pay the money. NOT to NOT go if the team is playing shit is not what being a fan is all about.

You totally read my comment the opposite way round to how I meant it.

You're wrong. It's not about the team being shit, if it was a lack of quality but the effort is there it's very different.

But players going through the motions is hard to watch/get behind no matter where you're coming from.

Because the replacements are worse
Right now it's about attitude. The regulars might be better (under normal circumstances) but they wouldn't walk into a championship side right now, they are contributing to woeful performances. Get some players starting that are flirting with the first team, certainly can't do any worse. At least they would give crap.

In that case, I apologise.
In my defence, I'm tired and my neighbours have been having a full-blown screaming match for the past hour.

Just seeing a lot of fans having a go at each other at the moment, it's obviously getting to me!

Fair enough. I have been through FAR worse times going to games over the last 30 years. I still have more love for this team than I had for many during the nineties and beyond.

I see a huge drop off in our pressing game, but I still believe 90% of our players care and want to turn this around.

Dread to think how some would be if they saw us truly go into failure, a la Sunderland, Sheff Weds, Leeds etc.

For me there's a lack of desire and commitment from some, and it's just permeating throughout the team.

Should of worded my original post better, maybe a little entitled sounding, but not the sort of fan I am, hence the reaction.

Poch has to pick a side that's going to leave it all out there on the pitch.

Sorry pal, I know you are a passionate fan too. I guess emotions run high at the moment and we just want our exciting, high-energy team back.

I struggle with having too much blind optimism and keep believing we are somehow going to turn the corner soon.

I'm more of an old school Genesis fan. This excerpt from The Knife seems more apt for our painful rebuild. Quite extreme I'll admit. :sneaky: :

I'll give you the names of those you must kill,
All must die with their children.
Carry their heads to the palace of old,
Hang them high, let the blood flow.
Now, in this ugly world
break all the chains around us,
Now, the crusade has begun
give us a land fit for heroes,
Nearer to the truth but last two lines are just a dream.

That's essentially my thinking.

And, hey, I may well be completely wrong - I'm not a football manager and there's an element of speculation. But logically, taking the fact that it was reported that his leaving had an effect on the players, I think that it's fair criticism in this particular instance.
No, I think your spot on. When you continuously preach about 'the collective' and then don't go with the team when they need you to be with them emotionally and in presence, in their hour of need, it can be very detrimental to the environment you've created.

Gotta hope that he at least spoke to everyone before he left but we've had numerous ITK state that he changed from the final. That's worrying

I was still ok after the Bayern and Colchester games. But I really, really believed we'd see a reaction against Brighton.

It was the context of being humiliated by Bayern, and just had myself convinced we'd see a huge reaction - providing Poch still had some influence left in the tank.

Was just shocked by what happened on Saturday.

Anyway let's hope we somehow manage to get going after the international break.

It's times like this I think we could do with more transparency and honesty in football. What good is all this 'behind the scenes' really doing?

If only managers were actually able to call out players, or vice versa, without it being personal or such a power struggle when the shit hits the fan. It doesn't need to be nasty, just clear what's going on.

I love it when rumours are quashed and put to bed quickly, such as Verts and Eriksen banishing the affair rumours, and there are so many rumours constantly floating around, it's about time the bullshit wasn't covered like some kind of holy grail and people just spoke a bit more truthfully. The fake news is becoming real news just to react to (as if we didn't know), so why not just talk honest and be a bit more frank.

Clearly, the players have something to say, and so does Poch. Wouldn't it be easier for everyone in football if they were just a bit more open about things?

I don't mean to be/sound sexist (the about-to-be-sexist pre-empt), but it's what I love about being a man. We front things up and sort things out. I don't think I've ever said - with regard to another male 'I don't know what I've done wrong, but matey isn't speaking to me today'.

Does Poch want to spend another year here? Maybe two? If Utd., or Madrid want him would he like to go? Would he like to overhaul the squad completely? Is Verts not quick enough for the press anymore? Is Eriksen's heart too far gone? Why not just answer questions like these? Surely it wouldn't be half as destructive in the long run.
I totally agree with you, we all want to know the shit, they all want to tell the shit, Levy prob has spies about the shit, Poch is in the shit, so what the actual fuck about us knowing the shit? Is it really so shit that nobody outside can know the shit?

Why can’t we know the shit???

It's a good point but we are not in a position where we can just give players away and we also can't make them leave if they don't want to. Modern day football is like this unfortunately. As for bringing players in that's more on him than Levy.

I was talking to someone yesterday who is pretty well connected and in his words... If MP was so adamant on playing this diamond with two up top, why on earth wasn't a CF prioritised. We've had issues when Kanes been out playing one CF let alone wanting to play two.

Nothing regarding this formation change makes any sense.
Well we had a pretty big one we worked on for weeks and then couldn't push it over the line on deadline day... Ya know that Dybala guy.

No, I've given you a "wtf" for completely twisting the point.

"Net spend" is transfer expenditure. If you sell a player for £60m and buy another for £70m, you haven't "spent" £70m - you've spent £10m.

To be fair, Liverpool got a lucky break when a desperate Barca overpaid for Coutinho , a player who they want rid of now. The fee received for Coutinho distorts the figures.

Fuck me, what an entitled bunch our ‘fans’ have become.

I don’t want to start the ‘I’m a better fan than you because I go to games’ argument but this sort of whinging shit gets on my tits.

I am there to support the team no matter what, and so are my brothers and other mates I go with.

Literally don’t understand the mentality. Only go if you can afford it. Not going because we will probably lose is just pathetic!

I will try to support the team and manager more than ever right now. That’s my role for the club. A role I signed up for for life. A role I learned from my dad, and my son will learn from me.

Modern football really is tragic. Breaks my heart to see how throwaway it now is.

Yawn. Get of your fucking high horse.

This has nothing to do with being entitled. It's got to do with not wanting to spend 700-800 quid to see something right now that I won't enjoy.

As for the condesencion in the rest of your post .... :finger:

Hope that the international break can do some of the players who's struggled, good. Lo Celso and Sessegnon (hopefully) back in training ?

Poch also in need of a break from the media's pressure and focus on the work that's ahead.
