Lose a game and they write this. I don’t think he will go yet. Who would afford him anyway?

If we don’t win anything with Kane it will show us a very poorly run club on the playing side.

I think our transfer business has been crap during last few years since we got Son and Alderweireld that summer, which was really good business and Wanyama the following summer. All top quality players at time, which really added to our squad.

This summer I think again we signed some top players but have been very unlucky two have not been available and third needs to sort fitness.

But we have been in position before (under ‘Arry) where we really looked like we could be reaching for the stars and... we bought in Nelson and Saha... ?

It seems Poch was to blame for being too picky last summer, but we really should have a better scouting and transfer system in place so we had promising alternatives to the silly targets Poch would only settle for.

It just feels lazy at spurs where we have a good team at that moment in time so why bother making any transfers?

We should have bought in a decent striker to give Kane cover, then maybe we wouldn’t have thrashed him to death and him getting those ankle injuries (plus an option to rotate / sub him with) and there have been areas in team like Wanyama being knackered (SURELY our medical team must have picked this up) and Dembele being near end of career, waited far too long to replace him and shouldn’t have been relying on him first half of last season.

And why did we sign Aurier over Pereira??

We had a promising team with Kane as our talisman and really we’ve completely wasted it. Someone like Kane should be playing alongside top quality players and this should have happened at Spurs.

One club has money to burn to win trophies and is willing to spend it. The other club has money as well but isnt willing to spend it.
What are you on about? Is there any chance that, just for once, you might make use of the large grey thing between your ears?

I said in the ENIC thread that Levy made a catastrophic error when he said that transfers would be unaffected by the stadium build. He should've just kept quiet and got on with it - at least that way people might've just said "obviously the stadium's taking up all the money".

Not only that, but the most recent evidence (the only evidence that exists since the finances have been restructured and settled down) shows a most uncharacteristic approach to transfers, spending well over £100m and not recouping very much. The fact of the matter is that he did that because we can afford to do it now, just the same as United can afford to spend the money they do. If you're expecting Spurs to start spending the same sort of amounts as them though then you're an idiot - they have it and we don't.

I don't see how you can say we're unwilling to spend when we've spent a billion pounds on the stadium. Have United spent that much in the last few years? I know you're specifically talking about transfers, but we can't ignore where our money has been going.

The money we could spend on transfers was obviously limited while we were building the stadium, but now we're back at WHL things should change. We spent over £100M in the summer for a start. The extra income that we're generating now should mean that we have money to invest in players in the future.

It's Hank, he can and will say it in every single thread on this forum.

Funnily enough Utd could spend much more than they are, but Woodward and the Glazers do not want to put too much money into it without recouping it.

I actually wouldn't begrudge him leaving at this stage. He actually doesn't deserve this

This is Harry’s f’n club. He is a bigger star than Eriksen, Verts, and Toby. Time for him to grow a pair and become a leader on this team. The performance and effort of many has been unacceptable and Harry is the one with the clout on this team to let them know that and to expect better.

This guy has become so joyless in his play to watch for club and country. I remember for a few years when he was such an all round player dominating defenders and being a creative outlet oppo fans tried to desperately play him down as a tap in / penalty merchant. Now he is a lot closer to that description than his younger self.

I hate saying it, but I don't think he's currently anywhere near the player he was during 2015-2017. I hope he might be able to be that player again for us sooner rather than later.

He reminds me of Torres when he moved to Chelsea, seems to have lost that edge that makes him so special, he was absolutely lethal from anywhere, he seems to have lost that belief slightly. I think it's down to being starved of service for so long for club and country hes starting to overthink the very rare chances he gets and not taking them on instinct. (the Kane we know is, I believe the deadliest striker on the planet) it's hard to watch him like this sometimes because hes not the same player, he will always score goals because hes still brilliant, but hes not harry kane as I know him.

Actually can’t believe what I’m reading on here tonight. Thought he was pure class tonight levels above anyone else on the pitch. 12 goals in 13 matches his 2nd best start to a season ever.

Is it because he is burnout from Poch's training methods or unresponsive from his tactics

Or is it because he has peaked as a player?

He hasn't peaked especially when certain aspects of his game are improving like passing, hold up play, his acceleration has definitely decrease and probably his reactions has a little.

I think he's just evolving into a different player from the one we're used to.
