Saw a few people people before the match saying this game will set the tone for the rest of the season. Having watched the first half all I can say is ‘I fucking hope so’

Just saw Pochs comments regarding Aurier. Pleased that he recognised his performance, normally he deflects praise and points it towards the whole team. Think now and again it’s good to publicly praise players. Wonder if that is one of the things the staff and players talked over.

Agreed. Aurier was by far our best right back last year and I don’t really get the desire to run him out of the club. He strikes me as the sort of player who will get better with time under Poch, like Walker and Rose did

Aurier and Son will get deserved praise but I thought Lamela also played really well. He never stopped doing the unglamorous stuff and nipped at the Palace players all game. It unsettled them and helped us keep the pressure on.

Felt like everyone knew their role today and was well up for it (especially the first half).

Thank you so much TFL and your bloody signals - Left at 11:00 and drove up from Bournemouth, was at Acton Town by 13:15 - signal failure at Turnham Green, boarded 3 different trains only to be turfed off again, eventually left Acton, train then crawled for a few hundred yards, then stopped for half an hour, then crawled some more, eventually started going proper speed to Wood Green. Because of delay, missed the last shuttle bus, ordered an Uber, got stuck at the temporary traffic lights for ages. arrived at the ground with the score at 4-0 just before half time. Second half was like a training game. Inched our way back to Wood Green on the shuttle bus, have just walked in my front door.
I think we have scored 1 first half goal at the new stadium since we have been back - I am late and we score 4.

We win a game impressively (having been 4-0 up at half time) and, at half 9 in the evening, the match thread only has 27 pages?!

Late in the game he tried and failed with a couple of those silly ankle kicks things he does.

One gave away possession needlessly but overall very pleased with his workrate and crossing.

I've said it before I swear TFL is run by a Gooner with an axe to grind every time Spurs play at home, Wembley was the same.

Finally got our team back today. That first twenty five minutes was like watching us a couple of years ago. Starting on the front foot, full of movement, passing the ball around quickly. The players once again seemed to know what they were doing and trusting each other. So people ran into spaces believing they would get the ball. Players put the ball into areas instinctively knowing someone would be there. That commitment led to the goals.

Aurier was a revelation attacking wise, yet no slouch in getting back to cover. Today we got behind the opposition more times than in the whole of the last 15-20 games combined.

Glad I went!

Lamela excelled in all the off the ball stuff he does so well and you are right to point out it’s importance. However, he still frustrates the shit out of me with the ball. He gets in some great positions between the lines, but he more often than not either chooses the wrong pass or is lacking in his execution when we have a break on.

First half overall was much more like our best football today. Energy, zip and most importantly moving the ball around quickly.

Son makes such a huge difference with his combination of pace, energy and movement.

Over the moon the spurs I love is still in there somewhere Counting down the minutes to motd. First game I've been unable to watch, and we play brilliantly...I'm starting to think it's me.

He can be a bit erratic when heading towards goal which is interesting as he can be quite composed when on his game. Hopefully he can stay fit and a run of games irons out some of his decision making but he has certainly contributed well to some of our goals this season.

Son and him combined worked well today.

Clean sheet was welcome too. Trying not to think about the fact that our whole back four today are looking to leave. ?

Lamela has been fantastic so far this season - fingers crossed he can stay fit because he is one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment.

Go back a couple of seasons and Sonny wanted out look where he is now, Pepe £70 mill must make Sonny £100 mill, wouldn't take any notice of all the gossip.

Diamond worked well today, intensity was great, aurier was brilliant and it helped having a proper RB as well as a settled squad now the window has closed, much more like ourselves. Onwards and upwards from here.

Great showing from the lads first half today. Much more like it

Post match? The “entertainment” was so cringeworthy. Embarrassing to be truthful! Saxophonist and singer delivering a performance that any 50th wedding anniversary party would have loved to have seen! Couples dancing etc

WTF is going on?

First game at the new stadium was against Palace and it was a bit of a test run. We needed time to settle in and truely feel at home so saw patchy results. Hopefully this game against Palace is the true start of turning the stadium into a fortress.

They did it to guarantee a few moans from Spurs fans, they know we can't always have nice things.
