I think he came in when we massively needed him and silenced a few people with a huge improvement on what had gone before.
But he is and always will be a very limited player, he has power and pace, but agility, touch, passing/shooting where to go when we're in possession, understanding of space, are all at the lower end of the spectrum.

Simply put he is not good enough to be a CM in a possession based football side (which like it or not we are) we have better than him and i applaud Poch for his loyalty but IMO the time has come to take him out of the team.
I think he can perform a role for us this season but totally agreed it has to be as a bench and squad option. He's just not good enough to start now as there are 2 possibly 3 better options than him compared to last season in Ndombele, Lo Celso and Skipp.

Set up multiple of our counters, drove forward and turned an arsenal play inside out to release Son who then won a penalty and was defensively significantly better than Sissoko.
Fair enough
Thought he was distinctly average personally and non existent in the second half when arsenal overran us in midfield, worked harder and won second balls
While Sissoko was out covering Sanchez and Rosey, and making late driving runs taking off the pressure

He should be a DM. ITs pointless him being in the final third when he cannot finish or make the correct pass

Hmmm disagree, he's better than winks, wanyama, dier, and Skipp at this moment

Transferwise I think Sissoko peaked this summer. Could have more than recouped the fee we payed Newcastle...... Which player could we get for £ 30-40 million? One with a first touch and a shot? Maybe even a pass

You're not getting any player with Sissokos fitness, pace, strength, dribbling, flexibility with touch, technique and shot for anything south of 60 million

Ok... but I disagree.

The play is never fluint with Sissoko. Always one touch to many or a dribbling to much. Slowing the game.

We are a fickle bunch... We seem to go from loving MS to hating him!

This guy has his flaws, and yes they are annoying. However, his performances were a big part of the team that got us to the CL final. On his day he is great. He just can’t do certain things very well. Like shooting... ?

He can't be a DM, he needs to move about and 'destroy'.

Often when he drives forward its to relieve the pressure and its very much needed when the team reverts to the stupid tactic of standing off the opposition.

He gets into great positions, knows his limits and really doesn't want to shoot but the attackers ahead of him should get into better positions so that the final decision isn't left to him.

It's like he did a deal with the devil and asked to be a pro footballer, but the devil being the devil decided to give him the athleticism and not much more.

Aside from that though, I do think that if we want to have a functioning midfield that passes around teams, Sissoko can't be in it. He doesn't cope well with the ball at his feet unless there's a space for him to charge into and that doesn't seem to be what we are aiming for (although fuck knows what Poch is looking for tbh).

Covered Sanchez' arse loads of times as well.

Love his attitude and he’s a superb player to have in the squad. The way he stepped up last season when our midfielders were dropping like flies should be remembered fondly for a long time to come.

But at the end of the day, at our level, he’s a squad player not a starter. Once we’re healthy and integrated that’s what he’ll return to being. Very happy to have him but also relieved that going forward we’ll have to rely on him a lot less.

Ideally, he should start 12-15 league games a season while being a great high-energy bench option and an overqualified starter in domestic cup matches.

We can't control midfield when our CM isn't in control of the football. Without forward momentum he's always vulnerable.

He’s our version of Adama Traore. All power and speed but not much in technique and football intelligence.
