I really don’t think that’s what’s going on. People just want a positive end to the bad form. Is this the start, hopefully, who knows, it could well be.

It’s no bad thing Poch being under pressure. He does get quite an easy ride from the press and fans on the whole.

I agree. I think the CL run also masked our bad form in the media’s eyes, he’s rightly got a lot of credit in the media and with fans for the job he’s done at Spurs.

Why do you believe that he would make that much difference? He was part of a Fulham team that had the worse defensive record in the league.

I'm not saying he's a bad signing, but I don't think he's going to come in and shore up the defence. It's arguable whether he's even going to end up playing as a LB in a back 4.

But Sess didn't really play that position week in, week out. he played more in attack and not being funny but the whole of Fulhams defence is nowhere near quality to survive the PL

So Poch had positive talks with Levy last night, hopefully there'll be a similar reconciliation with the players and we'll see a much improved performance on Sunday...

Having just watched it again, no one particularly covers themselves in glory.
Toby has no need to move to the right, Sissoko turns his back on the cross rather than trying to get in the way of it. Sanchez following Toby's lead makes a couple of steps to the right just as Jolinton steps away (if he had stayed where he was he had an easy header) and Rose is away with the fairies ball watching and reacts too late. It was a perfectly timed shit storm...
If we'd have been pressing Newcastle out of our half then that goal doesn't happen. Individual mistakes happen (too many at the moment) but if the team had have been showing fight then we'd have won possession back quicker and the goal wouldn't have happened.

City woukd never have conceded that goal.

but we have only got 15pts in our last 15:cautious:

even if 12 of them don't count, and the reasons why we struggled are just an excuse to people that don't look at the bigger picture. apparently because these players get paid millions a year and should be fit enough to not get injured, or tired, and don't deserve any rest or family time. they should also apparently be able to play at speed 24/7 without effect, whether it's 28 degrees and attacking teams that have 10 men behind the ball, which makes running at speed not very effective.

yes we have to have better movement and find away to breakdown these stubborn defences, we also need to find away to counter the high press, which is really where the need for speed is. just look at the 2 goals that knocked the gooners out of the CoC last season, Gazzaniga turned defence into attack so quickly, yet Lloris will play tippy tappy football and bring pressure on.

Bored with Windows 10, moving over to Poch 6.0 ... an upgrade if ever I saw one...coys
Coincidentally, Microsoft skipped Windows 9 and went straight to Windows 10...We were stuck on Poch 4.0 for ages before skipping to Poch 6.0 this summer because the club forgot to sign any fucker for 18 months.

People reminisce about 15/16 and 16/17 but if I remember rightly the former season started slowly and in 16/17 we were not great either, especially in the UCL.

It's pretty clear the dinner went well and that it could have gone very differently. I don't think the rumours came out of thin air even if they were exaggerated.

The important thing is though, what did they each order?? ??

I prefer to read this thread title as the end of the beginning. growing pains that lead to future glory. yes please. (yes i know i'm optimistic. fuck it, that's how i roll)

revisiting previous thoughts in light of presser today, which had me chuckling over my morning coffee.

the mischievous joy that Poch took at answering the Arsenal player/coach question? I want to see the same kind of energy from the squad on sunday. having fun, sure. but accomplishing the task at hand at the same time.

He looked and sounded a lot more like the Poch we know and love in today’s press conference.

Hopefully this will translate to the players and a much better performance on Sunday.
