I've wrote off many people at work who support arsenal and a 2nd team. I can accept that people are born with Arsenal forced upon them but I'll never accept the 2nd team especially a European giant.

In his defence he's French so I'm pretty sure he's always supported PSG it's not like he was an Arsenal fan from birth and then jumped on the PSG bandwagon, if anything it's the other way round assuming he moved to London during Wenger's "golden" years

Yeah it's definitely the other way round, sorry, lazy typing on my behalf.

He's the one who said Hugo had a release clause in his contract, which was obviously bullshit. I'm not certain he knows that much but I like what he says on this so I am going to believe its true!

They sold off half their defenders with no replacements. They haven't strengthened.

What are you on about? They sold their backup CB in Kosielny and Lichsteiners had a one year deal. Both were backups. It's similar to us weakening our attack due to letting Janssen go.

On the other hand they soon get their two "best" defenders back from injury in Bellerin and Holding.

If anything their defense is better this season, but they will likely still concede more than us.

Well, we've got a chance then. He wont go to man u cos he doesn't like them, arsenal are out of it if we believe Julien Lauren's and going back to liverpool would just be weird all round, for him, for klopp and for the dynamic of their front 3

Good player but a bit overrated and a lot overpriced imo. Can't help but feel there must be much better value out there. Especially considering his age.

Spot on. I always thought Coutinho was massively overrated and Barca were mad to pay so much for him. As you say there must be better value out there surely?

Explained in @versiorac1 : Coutinho has been offered to Arsenal among other clubs of the Premier but the London club can not take it. Tottenham may be an option. Barça recognize offers from English clubs, Premier exit goal.

If the EPL is the only option and Arsenal are 100% not interested, then surely it has to be us, barring a last minute romantic return to Liverpool.

That said, I have absolute no confidence that we could get a Coutinho deal over the line even if we're the only feasible option for him.

Arsenal don’t want Countinho. However, Tottenham are keen on Coutinho who would be reunited with Poch. A. @ESPNFC @laurensjulian

Reddit translation: Tottenham and Manchester United asks for Coutinho. All possible deals are complicated, but Eriksen is set to leave and Pochettino & Coutinho knows each other.

A lot of noise around this, JJ said last night we had other irons in the fire, ITK that he's now our number one target...

Couldn't be, could it?

Can't see him ending up back at Liverpool cos Klopp never seemed massively keen on him in the first place as he doesn't fit the system particularly. All the more reason why it was mad for Barca to pay what they did.

"Coutinho played under Mauricio Pochettino at Espanyol and has maintained a great relationship with the Argentine coach. A source close to Coutinho told ESPN FC the chances of a return to England this month are "low" but not impossible.

A move to Spurs is complicated, though, and would depend on a number of factors. Christian Eriksen would have to leave the club -- with United interested -- while deals for Giovani Lo Celso and Bruno Fernandes would have to fail to materialise."

That last part makes no sense to me. We'll only sign Coutinho if Eriksen goes and we sign neither or Lo Celso or Fernandes? I thought the idea was to strengthen, not just replace.
