You are probably right but you actually have no idea if we are trying to do you?
Posts like this are just so you can say 'told you so' at a later date and don't really add anything
Nah I won't because I've never used the phrase 'I told you so', I don't find this sort of stuff a competition. This is just an end of the window gamble that never comes up. We're here at the same place every year doing the same thing going big I would be much more impressed if we sign the players we have targeted all summer.

Edit the only reason I want to be right because I don't really think PC is that good TBH

Didn't Barca play Arsenal in Miami when Poch said that Levy was there? Maybe he wasn't at his holiday home after all?

Edit: Ignore me the game was at the Camp Nou

Coutinho seems like a very un-spurs type of signing at this time. He is likely to be expensive and is already 27. Would be interesting to see if he could regain some of the Liverpool form and confidence and if we do go for him and he does it would be a very good deal.

Which prem deal is going to set of a chain reaction?

Few Ali bits on Eriksen:

- he will not sign a new deal no matter how much you throw at him
- he burnt his bridges from what i hear, he wants out.
- doubt either Spanish club really want him
- It is not over yet but I agree so much going on 48 hours to ensure we don't have unhappy players, unhappy manager and the need for major surgery next summer.
Next summer ?????????

Will be interesting to see if he burnt them to the ground or just “Toby-burnt” them

True, but he's four months younger than Eriksen, and in the middle of his prime years. It makes sense to replace Eriksen with an equally established player. He's prem proven too.

He's saying we need to do work now to ensure we don't need major surgery for next summer not that we will rebuild next summer.

Fair enough, but by that philosophy you would never have signed VDV who became available late on and hadn't been targeted all summer. I know its leaving it late but that is when things seem to change for many clubs for a multitude of reasons and what wasn't deemed proabable in July is possible in August.

This was suppose to be the summer for major surgery, I highly doubt we will do it all in 48 hours, We could be looking at a similar scenario next season again ...

Fair Point as well we would have never signed VDV either, but right at this moment I think we are make or break, more than this summers transfers but as a club, that we could go on and challenge for something maybe win something. Our points total is going down successively every season from our record. This late window gambles rarely work out I think we should focus on the players we have been planning for all summer, not a whim.

It would always take two years or 3-4 transfer windows. You cannot drastically change your main 11 or squad in one transfer window.

I've said it a few times, some people shouldn't bother with the ITK because they can't read the tea leaves of it and will just spin it however they want to fit their own views which for me makes ITK kinda pointless if your reaction is predetermined. I have an opinion on all of this of course but you have to take what Ali Z is saying verbatim and not spin it.

If he's really burnt his bridges and wants out desperately just to go to United then that's incredibly bizarre
