I know that - my main point is use the 30m now to get whoever we need in terms of midfielders. Keep Rose then next year we would have generated further income to then spend the £30m on Sess or whoever in terms of full backs. About prioritising the cash for the midfield as I dont think our left side is a priority in this moment.

Then again im thinking this is more to do with succession planning and selling Rose but next year as i dont think we will sell now.

I guess it depends on the payment structure. I would assume it will be staggered payments, probably with some bonuses included, in which case hopefully it won't impact too much on this year's budget. I think it would also be good to get him in and have time to gradually integrate him into the first team squad.

Wasn’t there a suggestion in the last few days that Onomah was the hold up, not Fulham or Sessegnon. Seems he’s accepted the move, and maybe that’s why things are moving now.

Fantastic to see us close to Sessegnon a brilliant player who many will judge solely on his one season in that disjointed mess at Fulham in the Premier League (fair enough) but there's a top player there and very happy with this one, wonder if we will do what we did with Clarke and delay the announcement till we get a big hitter aswell (fernandes or lo celso)

am happy with this.
always surprises me that teams like Fulham don't push for deals with multiple players going the other way.
In their shoes I'd have gone for Onomah, CCV, GKN and perhaps even Edwards. Probably could have got all 4 and 2-3 million on top. Or Onomah, CCV, GKN and Victor Janssen.

I think that people will be happy with Sessegnon (if we sign him) with respect to what he can add offensively against bottom half teams. His intelligence and delivery are both top notch and he has the ability to come inside. That can be a difference maker when you’re pegging a team back, creating width and space for other players.

It seems as though the buzz around him has lessened slightly since last year. I seem to remember there being much more excitement at his potential signing, but he looks a good young player and hopefully the slightly lower expectations might give him more time to settle into Poch's methods under the radar. Especially if Rose stays.

You do realise Ryan is injured right?

Parker was quoted as saying the club would do everything they could to have him available for this match, I believe. I know he definitely was injured, but I do wonder how injured he actually is at this moment in time.

EDIT: I also posted “as anticipated” in the message, so yes, I did know.

I mean, apart from all the other reasons the loan-back might not work, I'm sure Sessegnon wants to be part of our squad this season so he can win the Champions League in Istanbul next May.

He's one of the best natural wide players i've ever seen in terms of his knack of getting on the end of things. He's almost like a wide version of Dele Alli in that respect.

I'm not too clued up on how good his dribbling, delivery and defending is though.

People really underestimate how good this kid already is. He’ll get more than enough minutes and have an impact from this season in my opinion. He also frees up other players for other roles as if he does play in an AM3 primarily, Son and Lucas can happily go down the middle more. It essentially removes the need for a direct Kane back up as we’re so stacked with quality at AM/ on the wing.

And if and when we do shift Rose, Sessegnon can happily move backwards (as I am sure they’ll be coaching him toward this) with Clarke (aka the prodigy) hopefully ready to be a senior option next season.

I’ve got Soccer Saturday on, and Jeff Stelling was going through all the new signings and injuries for the Championship games, and when he said Ryan Sessegnon was ruled out with a hamstring injury, he did an “air quote” gesture. Something is going on.

Beside him apparently no longer being a Fulham player what could be going on?

If it is, in fact, done then I expect to see it announced tonight or tomorrow. With only a few more days left and alot more business to attend to, I’d think we’ll want this wrapped up now
