Well they have iwobi who is just as good imo, scum can buy Mbappé as far as I’m concerned because until they sort the defence out they won’t win anything

Arsenal have paid nearly 80m for a player when Napoli were the only competition, and he's only had one standout season at the age of 24. He's also not made a single appearance in European competitions. Bedwetting over it is bizarre seeing as they didn't haggle or anything, and even ended up paying over the odds for agent commission.

Why do people keep wanting to talk about arsenal....
There is a thread in general football about them if you want to go complain/talk about their transfers.

Because people get caught up in this 'who is winning this transfer window' competition that exists on twitter and on the playgrounds (yeah, some are behaving like spoilt kids).

We should just be focusing on what we are doing and our strategy which is an excellent one (Ndombele, Clarke, Lo Celso, Sess - hopefully)

No one said it's a good move. It's pure idiocy but the point is they're consistently getting things over the line relative to us.

Consistently getting things done? They signed a midfielder on loan with no option to buy and they signed a young CD that they loaned back to his club. The Pepe deal hasn't gone through yet. They are staggering their transfer fees which could hamstring them in the future if they fail to get CL again.

No, they're massively overpaying because the rumors are that they're getting a deal with nearly nothing upfront. They're financing a 40m player, but they're getting it done.
And you think that's a good thing to do?!
Are you saying that paying an extra £35m on a players is worth it, to "get it done"?!

The reason people are panicking is simple. The fact is, N'Dombele is simply a straight replacement for Dembele. Since we've lost Tripps, Vorm & Llorente from a squad that was out on its feet last year & lost over 20 games then I'd say some of us are entitled to be worried. If we sign Lo Celso & Sessegnon and keep Eriksen & Toby then it'll be a good window but IMO we need a couple more. If we stay as we are then I think we'll struggle.

We always panic this close to the window closing when everything that was "nailed on" earlier in the window goes quiet... People are entitled to panic a little bit imo. As I said earlier, I'm not yet in the panic camp as I still believe we'll get these deals done, but it doesn't help when these things drag on.
I agree with @YidRowe that this isn't particularly great window if we did just get Ndombele and no one else in, as we have effectively weakened at RB, and Ndombele is only a replacement for Dembele who we lost last season. The squad needs bolstering with at least 2-3 more signings AND holding on to Eriksen and Toby (Preferably with new deals)

Last season we had the world cup hangover on top of a fairly thin squad. We also suffered an insane amount of injuries. This wont be popular but I think losing Trippier and Llorente even without replacing them barely impacts our squad strength.

None of our players are past their peak, we dont have anyone in decline due to age so we now have a year more experience together including a CL final, a year more of Pochs methods being deeply ingrained in the squad, a year of development for youngsters like Winks and Skipp. Lucas Moura has now settled in the UK, Son doesn't have military duty or an international competition. If any one of Lamela, Wanyama and Dier stays fit all season we have a additional player pretty much. Parrot looks a real prospect.

We have achieved a lot and moved on a lot since the beginning of last season.

Now add Ndombele who has the potential to have Kante levels of impact and we are already looking strong.

And the biggest difference? We are back home and have the best stadium in the league. That is huge.

IF Eriksen and Toby and/or Rose do leave and we don't get some numbers in then we may begin to look a bit delicate but there is a lot to be positive about.

If we keep those 3 and sign GLC and maybe another fullback then we are in fantastic shape.

Amusingly, three players that many hoped would never play for us again.

Let's panic when we need to, eh lads?

Who gives a sugary shite about Vorm, my only memory of him last season was him flapping at crosses against Lpool, Watford and Inter - absolutely no loss.

Trippier was garbage and Llorente is finished in the Prem, he can’t move.

As for Ndombele being a swap for Dembele, he also has the added benefit of being able to play more than 1 game a week.

No World Cup hang over this year and a pathway for more promising youngsters into the first team squad. People want to see Skipp, KWP and Parrot play more, then they moan that we didn’t buy more players in their position to limit their chances.

I don't want to detour the thread but really we should just write a "Ricky Sacks is legitimately terrible" thread and pin it. Most of what he posts he just copies from other aggregators and doesn't read the source. That's why he will often post the same story like above without realizing he's just sharing the same story 4/5 times citing different sources.

the same could be said about Hercules on twitter, not our @Hercules he doesn't do twitter, but his ghost copies his post word for word including emojis. I embarrassed him so much he finally blocked me, though don't know if he has been removed now because a few weeks back I could view his post when logged out, but he has disappeared when I search his name so not sure if he is still posting and he has managed to block my IP address I don't know

But still 2 players we hoped to replace.

And if that doesn't happen and we run out of opportunity to do so, then fair enough.

Merry-go-round is this week according to some. Let's enjoy it. Then go full sandy vagina if it doesn't go our way. TN is still the tits and I'm excited about his inclusion.

If we get JLS or whatever his name is, then awesome too. (I know full well what his name is). Everybody in love, go put your hands up ...

I've been wanting to have sex with Scarlett Johansson for a long time but it hasn't happened.

To be fair, the offer of a 25% sell on fee is quite degrading to most women, and, when Ricky Sacks retweeted the sun headline, "WorthATry pulls out of spunking his load and splashing out on young sCarlett"........Well........she just felt unwanted quite frankly.
