I wonder what was the purpose of the intentional leak? Its now shown that we were never seriously in for him, and that being said, it would have been naïve in the extreme if we believe there would not have been other suitors.

Yeah, it's very odd and I don't see why we'd have instigated it. But then I felt that with the two new Arsenal players we had no need for. Either we're being played or the club is much smarter than us...

Think this post is spot on.
No idea why you would need PR to link to a player who (for all intense and purposes) not really within our reach. Just adds a layer of confusion where it probably isn't needed ...
What amazes me is all the up beat comments that "He's having a medical" "It will be signed in the next 48 hours" when we haven't even made a bid for him or Dybala or Sessegnon. It's just media talk with no substance. When I hear from a reliable source (The club) then I can get excited. If you took some of the comments on here seriously they are already here and in training.
You might as well go away and come back when they announce the player then because the club won't say anything beforehand.
You do know this is the Transfer *Rumours* section, right?
