    He sure got vilified in the press for even daring to try out the Christmas tree in an England friendly. Imagine that. Experimenting in a friendly. He sure made them eat their words when using to devastating effect in Euro 96. The national team is still massively missing a manager like this.

    Really sad news. Great memories of him as our manager when I started supporting us as a kid. A great manager, tactical genius and did England proud in Euro 96. Also remember playing the board game "Terry Venables invites you to be the Football manager" a lot as a kid.
