And if you want to see what it looks like when you stick an inside forward or playmaking AM out wide as the main form of width in a very rigid way, just look at Grealish for City. Doesn’t work for him and doesn’t work well for City either imo. He cuts inside every single time.
That is why I’m...
I agree we struggle to control matches and agree with your general post but for me a decent chunk of the problem comes from the lack of control and balance in our attack.
If I was splitting our problems in to % I’d say:
30% - Poor balance of profiles in attack
30% - Structural issues from the...
@Ghost Hardware some really good points on Zirkzee and I share the same concerns.
He is such a big talent though I wonder if we could both tweak our tactics slightly and coach him to attack the box more. A slight tweak in both areas along with his natural talent could turn him in to a superb...
The problem is one of the reasons we concede so many goals is the make up of our attack. We have no one in the attack who can dictate the tempo of attacks, slow it down, speed it up, retain possession, beat a man in a tight space, combine with sharp passing in tight areas.
Watch how often...
As mentioned in the Werner thread, Summerville on fire again for Leeds tonight.
2 goals taking his league tally to 19 in 39 starts this season now.
Wonder if we will look at him in the summer.
An elite 1v1 dribbler was one of the missing pieces in that team actually.
And I don’t understand why a 1v1 dribbler has to be frantic as you describe? They can just be direct, dangerous and decisive.
Every single person is in agreement that high iq and technical quality is important but 1v1...
Nailed it @Ghost Hardware
All the best teams in the world have a minimum of 1 but more often multiple attacking players who are strong at 1v1s. They can make things happen out of nothing OR combine with the team to create/score goals. This is simply a fact and we don’t have any attacking...
I like Fofana but I do have a concern from watching his recent games at Monaco.
He plays in a double pivot with Zakaria and the latter seems to be the one who’s way more defensively aware.
Watching the first half of the Brest game tonight (haven’t seen second half yet) it was Zakaria making...
@Ghost Hardware I watched the game back on the app this morning and finished it at lunchtime.
Onyedika and Sabbe the best players for me.
Really interested in us looking at Sabbe as potential RB competition.
As for Onyedika, I love how he keeps the ball moving nicely and he finds a hell of a...
