    Player Watch: Hugo Lloris

Feel terrible for the guy and hope he recovers soon, for the sake of his personal life if nothing else. I know he's made some huge mistakes the past few months, but based off of Paulo's form in preseason, I'm still a little worried about the months ahead without Hugo.

Stats show Walker-Peters is ready to take over from shambolic Aurier

In the coaching staff's defense, he's been hurt (think it happened against Newcastle?) Was thinking about KWP's performance in Barcelona last year in light of the Bayern game. Obviously, his slip against Dembele cost us a goal and made him look overmatched, but he picked his head up and ended...

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

As Steve Austin and the Office of Scientific Information proved, once you throw enough money at someone, their physical limitations become a thing of the past. OSI estimated the cost at $6 million, but I don't know what that converts to in your currency.

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

A lot was made of the "no dickheads" rule that Poch instituted at Spurs (though there are obviously a few exceptions thrown in there, as there always has been where he's managed). A lot of these guys were recruited or retained at least in part because they were hardworking guys who had their...

Poch: In or Out? - You CAN change your vote

I like Dier, but he's always hurt and has regressed since his peak in 2015/16. I don't know what the solution to this mess is, but it's not him. Voted Remain, but I'm judging him result-by-result now. Last night had the look of a team giving up on him and that's tough to salvage.

    Player Watch: Serge Aurier

Gnabry probably would have torn KWP apart, but KWP wouldn't have given up. That's what really bugs me about this.

Player Watch Player Watch: Harry Winks

Don't want to write him off after one performance, but it seems like he does one thing really well (receive the ball under pressure, turn, and keep the ball circulating), and he did terribly at it today. Against teams that sit back, his bad performances can be explained by the fact that no one...

    The Mauricio Pochettino thread

Ironically, Atlanta United (his current side) had some major dressing room issues at the beginning of the year, but he has them playing his style and has their key signings engaged and believing in the cause. They went from talking shit to the press about him to third place in the conference and...

I'd like to amend my earlier assessment. KWP is better.

Match Threads Spurs vs Bayern Munich - Match Thread

My main issue is not that we were orders of magnitude worse than we have been the past few months (though we were bad after the first 30 minutes). It's that we faced a team that's our complete attitudinal inverse. A loss was inevitable once the midfield tired itself out covering for some of the...

    Match Ratings Ratings vs Olympiacos

Don't think Eriksen was disengaged (I remember seeing him hustling to track back a few times), but he was undeniably very bad. Obviously can't get out of his own head right now, and I'm getting tired of waiting for that to happen. Vertonghen was bad as well. Sanchez obviously isn't a RB, but...

    Player Watch: Serge Aurier

Was very good on both sides of the ball yesterday. Wasn't too happy with the flippancy of the interview he gave recently but he backed up his talk big time. Don't know if I would want him to start both games this week though, as 3 games in 8 days from your fullbacks when they're your only width...

    Player Watch: Serge Aurier

I think that Aurier is better, the degree to which is obviously debatable (I don't think they're as far off as a lot of people in this thread, fwiw). But even if Aurier is head and shoulders better than KWP, that isn't something that Aurier should say out loud. It's like the Danny Rose "Google"...
