At this point, having only ever seen us win the FA Cup in 1991 and two league cups in my many, many years supporting Spurs, witnessed the dross of Gross, all hail Bale and the "triffic chap Redknapp" years, I can honestly say I'd just like to see us lift a trophy.
Just one FFS. A 1-0 at...
Wow. Incredible how "fate" has really turned against us. The stars are definitely unaligned, the chips are down, butter side on the floor with Murphy & Sod laughing at us hysterically. Our chi is gone, the sofa faces north not south for a lack of Feng shui calm and the odds are on the far side...
Have to say I agree with Carragher on this, whereas I usually disagree with much of what he says.
What we need right now is Mousa Dembele in that midfield. Power, drive and transitional play.
Moussa Sissoko does that so well but without the finesse of dribbling in tight spaces. He's not as...
I agree - assuming he had a fully fit squad to choose from all of who could play 90min of football.
But he didn't. And I don't think he expected Ndombele to be quite so ineffective alongside Ollie Skipp at driving us forward.
I don't think he "got it wrong".
Sanchez, Dier, Vertonghen, Skipp and Lo Celso had played 120min of football <72h earlier.
He, unlike us has to shoulder the responsibility of making judgement calls about who is fit enough to start. He probably wanted to go in at HT at least level then bring...
I fear a Pogba-like scenario developing here. Talented midfielder who perhaps isn't flourishing under the current coach (nor was he under the last one) but has his own reasons (injury).
Hope Mourinho can motivate him.
He was poor yesterday.
I may not feel very confident, but the Manager has my sympathy.
He first fixed a sinking ship.
He got us to within touching distance of top 4.
He’s lost his two best attacking players; I think even Liverpool would struggle without Salah & Mane.
He’s inherited a record signing who is...
I think he's actually been really good this season - even with Pochettino. We've really struggled in central midfield and in our fullback positions.
On that note, Harry Winks has been performing really well too.
Gotta say he was massively off the pace from about 35min onwards. Rubbish tracking back, very little pressing (he wasn't the only one) and almost no ability to sprint.
We have quite a small sample size to work off but he actually looked less fit yesterday than his first few matches at Spurs...
