What about Zubimendi that WLB said we were keen on?

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

I do think wages and amortised value are going to become a bigger factor. We've seen ourselves, Man Utd, Chelsea soon, struggling to move players out and if you have a manager churn you can't hamstring them with deadwood that's near impossible to move. That's what I like about our current...

Thanks for this and I'm on the same page. Son and Kane are elite, a coaches job at a club like Spurs is to improve that player at the level or 2 below. Conte's success generally comes when he's working with the very best. His appointment was misguided and that was on Levy.

I didn't think you were, I think that what the poster is after that though. The differentiator for me is that Ange has worked with the squad and is taking a long term view to it. I was never bothered by the League Cup team because he needed to see players in a competitive environment and off...

So it was a Levy bashing you wanted? 😒

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

This is going over old ground but lumping Jose and Conte in together doesn't feel justified to me. Jose is spent, his love in the Mendes always makes me feel he's lining his pockets rather than thinking about the best interests of the club. Conte was a terrible appointment for the reasons...

Let's face it, a few of the players he wanted didn't want to come to us or if they did we were a 2nd or 3rd option and he struggled with that.

I think it's a combination of things but yes that, as well as not having all the right players needed for it plus maybe mental fatigue.

@rossdapep highlighted that it's pretty common in teams changing to this style in their 1st season especially as we don't have key players to rotate in.

I can't believe how many posts you've danced around the houses on this. If you want a good Levy bash there's a thread for it.

I think the main issue is in a high quality pressing team, players with an ability to execute a long accurate pass to an Isak don't have the time to actually get their head up and get an accurate pass away. We're allowing that at the moment and it's devastating. It will change though IMHO.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

You're making these analogies but they're not relevant, he's an anomaly. He didn't have s decorated playing career, retired relatively early but has honed in an ability to build squads and bring success. You could say he has a transferable blueprint and nothing he's done so far is any different...
