The best thing for the new management team would be cashing in on a ginormous Saudi bid for Salah.
On the decline and Slot (or whoever) will want to stamp their own mark on the squad and not have the relics of Klopp's regime around regardless of how well they have performed in the last 5 years.
Fascinating to see how Slot will fare in this league playing a similar brand of football to us but goes without saying, massive shoes to fill at Liverpool.
Really wouldn't want to be the guy post Klopp but undoubtedly it's an opportunity I don't think he could realistically pass up.
Could be most beneficial here striking an accord with Feyenoord over Gil as there would be a few players in return that could do a job here (outside of the obvious in Gimenez) in Geertruida, Wieffer and (to a lesser extent now due to injury) Hartman.
Conversely think it would be a great move...
You are indeed correct, was not aware he recently suffered a cruciate injury so yes on that basis you'd absolutely want to monitor how he fares in the second half of the Eredivisie next season.
I'd say we'd be well worth our while looking at Quilindschy Hartman from Feyenoord. Similar system under Slot who can play inverted full back so shouldn't have difficulties adapting to the demands of Ange and being able competition for Udogie;
Top work there @Ghost Hardware
Indeed, lots of quality options to consider for us and If anyone can follow this up with a quick summary post match that would be great.
@Ghost Hardware you mentioned this player before and whilst not ready for next season but as a long term prospect to nurture at DM then we should also be looking at Ayyoub Bouaddi who looks another prodigious talent coming off the Lille conveyor belt;
Would be a transfer and loan back you...
Yes, that's not going to endear him to fans for sure but wouldn't expect it to be a deal breaker although probably best not to have the headache granted.
Andre for me looks a really intriguing prospect but it'll be interesting to see how Ange and our transfer committee view the 6 position -...
So a few suggestions here - I can't compete with @Ghost Hardware for detailed analysis but as discussion points;
Morten Hjulmand (Sporting)- Having a great season at Sporting under Amorim and naturally being linked to Liverpool. Not as progressive as say a Rodri in bringing in forward but much...
Good luck negotiating a fair deal with Shakhtar now though after Solomon!
Another Maddison-esque alternative and not the wide forward we necessarily crave but a talented lad although bear in mind he only signed a contract extension recently (February).
It's a great fit for both player and club - should develop his game well there under Glasner and i'm sure in no time he will be seriously linked with the established 'big boys'.
