It’s a FUCKING JOKE.

Spurs didn’t concede a goal. An arbitrary rule interfered with what any normal person would consider to be how football should be played.

And saying we should score more to prevent it from happening is beside the point. 1-0 is a perfectly respectable winning score, worth the same points as 2 or 3 nil...

You shouldn’t have to score more to allow for total FUCKING JOKES like that.

Making up stupid rules like this gives them scope to call decisions either way and lets them influence results in certain teams favour.

It’s an absolute joke.

how can you blame the broadcaster. That’s weird.

Come on now, it isn't blaming the broadcaster its voting with your wallet. Stop paying and they will look into the reasons why, sadly no where near enough people are going to be switching off, but I certainly am.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce talking to Sky Sports: "I can understand why Spurs will go beserk and Roy Hodgson reacted like he did. It is a total nonsense, we should be jumping through hoops but I would be devastated if that was us. Maybe Roy is right, maybe we all need to get together. The decisions are ruining the spectacle. We have to get together as managers and say this must stop.

Did they even review that. He's looking at the ball, Dier isn't...incredible.

Nope and not even mentioned on commentary. There were two more that were worse as well. In this one, his forearm is pointing out horizontal to his body and it hits it.

This horseshit about how we should have been out of sight has to stop lads. We were robbed. The games been ruined, the rules are deeply, deeply flawed. A genuine tactic can now be to play for penalty kicks... Hoof the ball into the box enough times and you will eventually get a penalty.

The law as is goes against the spirit of the game.

We didn't lose that game for any tangible reason other than the rules as is are nonsense.

I'm not angry, I'm just really disappointed by how the game has changed for the worse.

Change is needed immediately. It's a joke as is, a complete joke.

Totally agree. Apart from the 'not angry' bit. I am furious.

I just cannot believe this was the intention of the rule makers. This must be down to the moronic interpretation of the referees. How have we gone from the ridiculous rules when handball in the build up of a goal to the other extreme when defending?

The refs need to come out and defend their decisions, talk us through what Dier could have done differently for it not to be a penalty. There has to be some form of intent for it to be a penalty, making himself bigger etc, otherwise what are they penalising?

I already hated VAR because it stops you being able to celebrate a goal but this is now just stupid.

Eh? He had a solid game and was given a decision against him which was ludicrous and he could do NOTHING about it.
He literally had nothing much to do until Carroll came on. It's not his fault it was a daft handball, but his defending at both set pieces was poor. Carroll's looking at his shirt number, which as a defender you shouldn't allow the attacker to do. Dier hasn't learned how to defend set pieces properly and makes cock ups time and again.

What did José say at the end about the difference of being at a club without a winning history? It was odd, and a little ominous...

It was a clever sly dig, that if you’re a Utd, Liverpool, and the like, you don’t get these decisions upheld against you. However as it’s Spurs, it’s an easy decision to make, and we rollover tickle our belly and suck it up and it’s all forgotten about by next time we play, especially when this ref referees agame for us.

Let's not forget the 'freekick' that was given which lead to the *not* penalty. Both were jokes of decisions.

I honestly hope the managers get together next week and refuse to put out a team to play before something is done about this.
