I was still married to a toon fan when he hit that worldy against us. So annoying.
Indeed! When we play them, whether im at the match or in a bar, im surrounded by Geordies. Ive learned how to celebrate within when we score however im normally found out as i obviously cant celebrate when they score!
To be fair in the 20 odd years of going to games with mates ive rarely had bother when toon fans find out i support Spurs. Unlike when i was 11 doing a paper round and a bloke i delivered to was West Ham, he threatened to burn my house down when he found out who i supported!

Match day morning, sunlight kissing the pitch a little more with every passing minute. Autumn mist slowly ascending, dew still glistening on each green needle, every one standing upright in anticipation of the impending battle. From the tenebrous hallway that leads to the barracks emerges a ashen haired figure, wafting towards the arena, indistinguishably murmuring in a Galician timbre. He stares at the magnificent galliform guarding the gantry and, puffing his chest out, roars ‘today, we are intelligent ****s’.

You been watching Russel Brand again?

I will be massively surprised if we start this game like we did against Everton.

I expect a fast start with our upcoming schedule.

I'm confident because Lo Celso is so important for us.

I'm going for 4-1 Spurs, Kane hatrick.

This is a crucial early season game and a must win match. Early season momentum is everything for this squad. Given match volume, there will need to be rotation, but if Moura, Winks and Davies all start again, it's going to be more difficult to put away the match early. At least two of Lo Celso, Lamela, Bergwijn or Ndombele need to start to give the team a bit of creativity in the final third. Preferably, three of the four would start with rotation at left-back, too.

We are definitely looking to off load Dele then, unless he's injured.

You would have him on the bench at least.

If we can play like we did in the second half against Southampton and sustain that level for most of the game, as well as coming away with a solid or comfortable win, then that will be a massive sign that things are starting to come together.

It feels like forever since we put a run of good, solid wins together. Every good game is followed by a disappointing one and vice versa, need to see some sign of consistency.

We also have 4 games in 7 days. He'll start v Chelsea. Perfect game for him.

Yes, but Newcastle is more important than Chelsea. Some will disagree, but it is.

You pick your best matchday squad here. Unless...

Thats surprising - I felt like given Hojbjerg supposed injury and the games coming up next week, Gio would come into CM and he’d get a start
Hojbjerg is on video walking in the stadium so I don't think he's injured

I remember sitting in the middle of a working men's club in Wallsend with my uncle and cousin, watching that Newcastle v Spurs match at the end of the '96 season. They'd blown the 12 point lead over Man Utd, and needed to beat us in order to stand a chance to win the league.

And then up pops Jason Dozzell in the first 10 mins to send them into conniptions, and all I can do is sit there and sip my coke. Great scenes.

I don't disagree, however Jose has to manage the squad on multiple fronts. I don't envy him, but that's our schedule for you. Dele has the quality to win the game v Chelsea. He also has that edge you need for a derby game against them. Maybe he thinks we can win today without Dele? We certainly can in my mind. He is going to have to leave out someone at some point. That's the beauty of having a deep squad now.

Yes mate, I'm just surprised he's not on the bench. If things aren't going well you want those attacking options on the bench. If not needed, he's not used and fresh for Chelsea.

We won v Southampton without him. I'd want someone like Dele raring to go v Chelsea. Perfect game for him to prove a point. For whatever reason Dele isn't clicking at the moment, so I can see why he has been left out. We need fresh legs this week as much as possible whether people like it or not. Regardless of the competition (which by the way there are plenty more games left in the league to catch up if need be) I'd rather Dele play v Chelsea.

Dele apparently not in the squad, I don’t like it. I don’t know what’s going on behind the scene but he can still be a useful player coming on from the bench and I just want us to win this game

Many will disagree but I'm more than happy for Dele to not be in the squad. He certainly wouldn't start for me and I'd rather see Bergwijn and Lamela come on before him and even Lucas (if he's not starting) as I feel his fresh legs may have more of an impact from the bench. When you consider this is all even without a backup striker and Bale included in the squad, Dele could quite easily be seen as being quite far down the pecking order.
