Would Hitchens task have been to agree everything with the player in the hope that should a deal with inter be agreed on the final day of the window that the deal would be quickly concluded?

This looks like serious reinforcement. And it looks likely to happen. Wow.

I'm struggling to get my head round why we - or anyone - would be paying big sums for transfers and, in the case of Bale, wages when there is no guarantee this season won't be halted again. It seems risky to me.
This is what I keep thinking. It feels like further disruptions to the season are almost upon us. Its very risky but I suppose what is the alternative?. If we do nothing we risk falling further down the league and the loss in revenue that accompanies that. Its a very tricky situation.

Great attacks win matches. Great defences win leagues.

The addition of Doherty and Reguillon, along with some protection in front in the form of Hojbjerg, is a solid prospect. Chuck in Skriniar too...

Reminds me of Otamendi from what I've seen. I wonder if we can do a KWP / Hojbjerg type deal where we can offer Aurier, Foyth etc..

What I really like about Skriniar is that he tackles on his feet (as opposed to sliding tackles - sorry guys, I'm not native in English, hope it makes sense). To me that shows great defensive solidity and bears a resemblance to our own Ledley King. Really excited about this,

Simply not acceptable. I could have written your post far more eloquently in Danish. :cautious: ?

Unsurprisingly we need to move some players on before we can push ahead with targets.

Maybe. Maybe not. This window is demonstrably different. As has been pointed out, Hitchen wouldn’t be in Milan unless discussions are fairly advanced.

Dan pouring some cold water on things. If it's sell to buy then nothing will likely happen until the last week. Maybe Hitchen was there to convince the player and discuss potential deal options with Inter but never with the intention to close a deal right now?

I hope I'm wrong of course!

ITK said we had 3 almost done (CCV, Rose, Foyth) plus a 50/50, which might have been Aurier

Really? I must of missed that. I saw CCV was close to Bournemouth but then he was named on the bench in the EL. Maybe we are waiting to get through the qualifying of that before he goes.

A theory... The club knows this is Kane’s last season unless we show some serious trophy haulage and qualify for the the champions league. We are investing big now because if that happens we reap the financial rewards and keep Kane, and if we fall short we sell Kane and the investment is covered by that income. All in the context of a market that hugely favours the buyer due to the pandemic.
I think it is more to do with the need for Champions league next season

Dan also talking about swaps. A timeworn journalistic favourite notion.......that hardly ever happens.

Which suggests to me that this is more of an opinion piece than solid info.
