I'm aware I might sound a bit like a Liverpool fan here, but I do take a lot of pride on how our club turns a lot of our ex players into fans of Spurs.

Graham Roberts, Micky Hazard, David Ginola, Jermaine Jenas, Michael Dawson, van der Vaart, Brad Friedel etc the list goes on, but all players who weren't born locally, and played for other clubs, but left as Spurs fans. Sure there are many more, but just from top of my head.

I get the feeling that Bale is like that too, genuinely loved his time here and as his agent says, we have a special place in his heart.

We seem to have that effect on recent managers too. Jol, Harry and Poch spring to mind.

Oh plenty old enough mate.

They both had a big impact by coming to England when this sort of thing had never happened before.

Point is the average non football watching house wife had no idea who they were. I mean they weren't even the biggest names from their own national team. Kempe's and Passarella were.

As far as world wide status and notoriety is concerned it isn't even debatable for me.

very true but ..................................

they were World Cup winners

As happy as I am that Bale is coming back I’m not sure about all this coming home and I place I want to be business. Can’t remember Bale saying anything about us since he left and he forced his move through by basically going on strike.
Spurs are simply Bale preferred choice out of the options available which is still great to be honest but let’s not pretend it’s anything more than that

Part of me was concerned we're getting a past it player.

then I read the comments on this clip of every comment being a real Madrid fan calling him a legend and worth every penny they spent on him

Even if that's true (and I don't think it is), does it need to be more than that?!

We are signing a world-class player who actually wants to come to Spurs.

Whatever Bale's innermost thoughts about Spurs, we very badly need a lift, just look at the state we're in.

Literally every window we get excited about a mega-signing and it never happens, except the one time it did last summer with Ndombele, and that hasn't exactly worked out so far, because we are fucking doomed not to have nice things.

Literally no one on here would be surprised if Deeney was signing tomorrow instead of Bale (no disrespect to Deeney), so let's try to enjoy it.

And I say that as a miserable fucker who is always moaning.

April 2010. My wife was heavily pregnant with our first born. I said you can call me if your waters break. Spurs beat Arsenal for the first time in 11 years. Bale caught them on the break. 3 days later I persuaded her that it would be ok again. Bale amazing against Chelsea.

November 2010. Our son now 6 months old. Bale amazing against Maicon.

February 2013. The last minute goal against West Ham. My 2 year old son woken up by both of us going mad.

September 2020. Hopefully my Spurs mad 10 year old will get to see Bale.

In my lifetime, alongside Hoddle and Gazza as the best I've seen in a Sours shirt.

I look at Kane, he has been loyal to us, and now he is 26/27 and will also need to leave to win trophies and get the 300k a week etc.

This is a bullshit narrative that needs to stop. Kane has had ample opportunity to win things at Spurs. And he will again.

What planet do these fuckers live on?

But Bale departs Real Madrid with former president Ramon Calderon claiming that the Wales forward’s time finishes in disappointment despite him winning the Champions League four times as he struggled in Cristiano Ronaldo's shadow.

“It happens so many times that a player who is successful in one club is not in another one. I don’t know, really it hasn’t been a successful signing, which is a pity because, as I say, the player is a very good player.

Yes he has had chances, but he hasn't won anything. I haven't said anything that is bullshit narrative as you suggest.

He has opportunities this season, but when you have the team from across the road even in their shit years winning FA Cups, it will, as a player, make you think.

As I said the other day, bunch of ungrateful hanky waving ****s. They should worship the ground Bale walks on for that overhead kick alone, that’s before you consider it was the winning goal in a CL final.

They're simply the worst club in the world. The vitriol towards Bale is untrue and dismissing his success is ridiculous

We don't know that though. Let's wait to get disappointed for just another couple of hours.

I personally can't wait. All this happiness is unhealthy.

just as well the your partner is already expecting, can definitely see another baby boom of Spurs fans celebrating tomorrow:cautious:
