Talking about through thick and thin:

Maguire keeps Man United captaincy despite Greek court case

OGS is digging his own grave IMO. Personally don't think trust works this way. Seeing how Rose feels in our camp the way things may seem unfair, I hope the discord is sowed in the United camp now that the captaincy remained for someone who was so obvious flawed in his character. That will be fun to watch and see how OGS handled that.

Not sure we can judge Lloris kept it after drink driving.

My overriding sentiment with these things, rightly or wrongly, is to look at what Lloris did, look at what Maguire did, look at what Foden did, look at what Ledley once did, and try not to get on too high a horse. You’ll find very few young men, regardless of status in life, who have been squeaky clean and never committed any of the above offences. The key isn’t to go through life being perfect, it’s to try to be a good person and if you make a mistake, take responsibility for your actions, learn from it and improve as a human being.

Wan-Bissaka dives in too much for my liking, he’d be much better if he stayed on his feet.

Not liking this until we've confirmed the transfers.

I'll make a mental note to do so when we announce. :p

Still think they might go back for sancho as there fans are getting angry. But it depends how late they leave it.

Small meltdowns happening on redcafe

Historically people have been a bit blind as to how bad other teams are at their transfer business. If Poch went there, despite their money and prestige, I really don't think he'd be any less frustrated.

This is why Woodward throw them PR-signings so the fans shut up.

Nah, he'll West Ham it. They'll end up paying £90m for Douglas Costa instead of £100m for Sancho or something.

They are spectacularly good at eventually buying the players they decided they didn't want at a price that exceeds their market value, instead of first-choice ones for much less.

Yeah I agree.

They've really screwed themselves because they overpaid in the past.

This is why sometimes you have to walk away if the deal isn't right for you.

80m for Maguire?? Nah, should have spent it on Ake and a similar type defender.

By continuously paying getting desperate and paying the asking fee other clubs now just know they can wait it out.

According to my brother they need a LB, CB, RB cover, a DM, a CF.

So, I can't understand why they are so desperate for Sancho. Spend that money elsewhere.

What genuinely pisses me off about the narrative around their transfers is they never miss out on a player, its always spun as not our first choice or we didn't want him that's why he went to x y and z club instead of ours. Just take the loss on the chin and move on, I'm so tired of Sky reporters writing articles like this:

Bale 1

They wrote a whole article about why United didn't sign Bale. No one gives a shit why they didn't sign Bale, everyone is more interested in the fact that he is coming home. All the football fans this side of the ocean are more focused on that.

It was the same with Thiago going to Liverpool, United didn't sign him because he wanted 200k in wages. Jesus Christ how stupid can a reporter be? United throw that kind of money at academy graduates why wouldn't they pay Thiago that much? The articles don't even make sense most of the time.

Ridiculous article. A fit Bale would be their best player left right or centre. As for Bale not preferring to play on the right, it’s not 2011 any more. Of his 145 league starts for Madrid, 108 have been on the right ?

To be fair Man U have been pretty good in their transfer dealings last two windows, it’s only this one they’ve not managed to get their targets (yet).

If they’d have got Sancho who they were all in for there wouldn’t have been any complaints from their support I reckon.

Oh and they did sign the Dawson Creek dude so hardly like they’re starved!

Not sure if they can still get him now or not as seems less likely at least this summer.
