I'm told there's been a hold up in Madrid. Nothing to do with the deal, just a travel issue. It's literally just a signature now, as everything else has been agreed and contracts are in place.
The jet’s waiting but Bale has pitched his second into a bunker from a decent lie on the 14th.

Aurier. This is not a certainty, but verbally thinking about new contract, but wants to keep options open in the mean time. He is/was not keen on Italy apparently ?

Not going to be popular but I'd 100% keep him if we can. I'd rather let Lamela, Foyth and Sissoko go if we need to free up squad places.

He's not great as a number 1, but if he's happy to play 2nd fiddle then keep him. he is a decent enough reserve for squad depth. And I agree with geting rid of those other 3 instead

With ya mate. Unless it's a "too good" offer, then I'd rather sell some of the ones you mentioned.

It’s difficult to not like the guy having seen the documentary and given Doherty’s purchase we can rest assured that we at least are unlikely to be forced to watch all of our games from between the gaps in our fingers. Makes more sense that splashing on yet another RB.

I'm all for him staying, that's a real depth for that position.

I also think he is good for the dressing room.

Thanks Herc, I'm all for keeping Serge, he's not elite but he's sure as hell not bad by any stretch.
(edited with respect to anyone offended by my take on Serge's history)

Just like with Davies, no problem with him staying and providing cover/playing some cups games for Doherty. I'd be surprised though, at some point you'd think we need to sell a few and his sale would generate a half decent fee and we'd have Tanganga to cover Doherty.

Wouldn't be surprised if he is hoping to get a move back to France. Only problem is outside PSG, not sure there are many options there who could come up with the money.

He was comfortable because he was in fact our only senior RB. Doherty should get him fighting for his place again and that can only be good.

Can’t say I’m surprised about Aurier not fancying Italy...looking at the way Balotelli, Lukaku and co have been treated. It’s a toxic environment for a black footballer to play in. It’s disgusting and sad but unfortunately true at the moment.

Kind of surprising in that regard that it looks like Danny is off that way, never thought it would have appealed to him at all...although at this point I think it’s just whoever will take him!

If Serge signs a new deal and buckles down, challenging Doherty at that RB role then great! Gives us 2 RB’s, 4 CB’s (5 inc. Davies) and 2-3 LB’s...plus an abundance of midfield options and wingers...we are a solid striker away from serious contention imo..

I would happily replace him with another player. Would even prefer someone club trained like Adam Smith to him as a RB.
Respect for playing when his brother died, absolutely fair play, but I would just prefer that chapter to end.

If Aurier is wanting to stay and fight for his place I'm happy for him to stay.

He wont be walking into the team at the moment so will need to improve. Great back up at the moment, and see what he can do

So that's now our first choice fullbacks from last season now backups. We've levelled up in this window, loving it. Always felt they were good squad players but a downgrade on peak Rose and Walker as first teamers .
