His main strength, and you can see it in that video, is a sort of Dembele-lite ability to keep hold of the ball with 3 or 4 players around him. Granted, not PL players, but you can see why could be considered on the basis of that kind of thing alone.
As ever on here, if you call all the players crap and criticise everything about the club you'll be drowning in 'winner' ratings. That then seems to be infectious and it turns into an echo chamber of lazy opinions. As you mention, there are opinions formed where people don't seem to be making any effort in researching, or considering that experienced scouts are no doubt watching these lads in person and considering what they could do in our team, not Crystal Palace's
up until yesterday I would say it was the other way around. Every link(apart from maybe Deeney and some tried) and especially signings has been hyped up far beyond what they they’ve shown, if anyone has slightly questioned what we’re doing this summer and previous it’s been shouted down by the echo chamber who seemingly can’t handle criticism about the club or the people in charge in any form. There is nothing lazier than talking up every single link or signing especially if you haven’t seen them yourself or arguing against people that have seen them more than you because if your positive it makes you a better fan. Im not talking about you, me or anyone else. Just a general point.
I personally have no problem with Sorloth as a player and he could be a useful target man in certain situations, personally prefer someone a bit more dynamic but honestly another forward is the least of our problems as a team.
