That's how I feel.

I do agree that the lift would be superb for the club, Jose and the players but at the same time it won't take long before things settle down again or Bale gets an injury.

We'd still be lacking a box to box cm, cb and LB.

If Bale had have played today there's every chance we'd have scored when doing ok, so that is something to consider. But he likely will take time to get up to speed and in the meantime we have other issues.
What do you dislike @Hercules ? Or was it fat fingers?

Today's game was a good example why we need someone of the size of bale. Like someone posted earlier, he is the type of player that makes magic, makes the impossible, and he is a big game player. Even our 2 best players in kane and son can disappear in games like they did today. When we came 1-0 down it was just obvious that we were losing. With GB on the field that feeling sure would change

You could see the lift Everton players got from being in a team with James - maybe it’d have a similar impact having Bale line up for us

Genuinely can’t think of one of top quality creative central midfield player that would be obtainable for us though. Zaniolo seems like someone the club likes but Roma didn’t want to deal and now he’s injured long term again. I don’t think we could get anywhere near Grealish’s price tag now. I think an elite creative player would be the best option. But I don’t see who’s out there to go and get.
Tanguy Ndombele? Giovani Lo Celso? £100m+ worth of creative midfielder that was, for one reason or another, out of the team today.

Sometimes the solution isn't "buy more players".

Indeed buuuuut, the time before when we really needed a lift was when we went two transfer windows without signing anyone. Instead, Levy sat on his pile of cash making love to it like a pornstar version of Scrooge McDuck.

Then he should have bred some more cash.

Can't and won't argue with that but its done.
Football always moves forward its not about then anymore its about now
And right now we need a massive shot of remember who you were because that shower of shit today looked like they were at a funeral I dont know if bale is the kind of pick me up they need or something else but dear Daniel needs to pull his finger out and right fecking sharpish in my humble opinion.

Bale would need one good game with a goal from outside of the box and suddenly we cause all sorts issues for teams as you have to work out how to mark Kane, Bale and Son knowing that two of them rifle them in from outside the box

2 of them? Kane, Bale and Son all score screamers from distance.

Yea just like when we signed VDV or man.u B.Fernandes or even Everton Rodriguez those big name signings lift a dressing room and they provide another level of quality on the pitch that our mid table squad is massively missing.
