As long as he is paid nor more and plays no more than Vorm did in his most recent spell then I don't mind this. HG and a an experienced leader for the dressing room.

Should also give our strikers plenty of confidence in training :ROFLMAO:

Been trying to think of keepers who have gone off the boil and found their form again and I'm a bit stumped. Keeper's don't get the same break as outfield players, they can drop down a division or two as they get older, play at a slower pace, go abroad for a different style but keepers are keepers are keepers - doesn't matter where they do it, exactly the same job, so they don't have the opportunity to "take stock" or whatever.

Robbo was world class for us then a few bad games, confidence was knocked and he was never the same again and while I can appreciate the amazing list of things Hart has achieved, have some great memories of him playing for England, the benefit of having such an experienced and home grown player in the squad, I just can't help but worry that he might just be done.

As some have said, he's not been anything like the keeper he was since he left City, so big gamble if we intend to use him often - if he comes in, league cup/waffa debut i'd guess.

Guess he and Gazzaniga will duke it out for that 2nd keeper slot. Hart will have to step it up if he's gonna do more than sitting on the bench for cup games.

We definitely need a HG keeper if our youngsters aren't up to it. Hart and Butland are the obvious choices. Neither have been playing well. We'd free up a HG spot if Gazzaniga moved on but that could be quite a risk if Lloris had another big injury. Can't do much harm signing Hart on a free though.

If he completes his move today, this has gotta be up there with the quickest out of nowhere signings this millennium.

I don’t hate it, just surprising. Given how carefully we manage wages and the chances of needing to call upon your third choice keeper, I expected Whiteman or Austin to take the third spot

Would be a very clever signing, another very experienced leader being added to the dressing room and home grown. Probably will be n.o2 but will mean we have 3 very good GK options.

Jose needs to take some credit here as it seems like for once we actually have a sensible plan for player recruitment for once.

He's remarkably still only 33, I doubt he wants to come here as a 3rd choice keeper so I wonder if we have found a buyer for Gazzaniga. As second choice he would be a risky move but as third in line there's probably no one better realistically.

This makes a lot more sense if we're selling Gazzaniga, otherwise I'd rather keep a younger homegrown keeper as third choice. Making Hart the number two and selling Gazzaniga to raise a few quid and free up another foreign player spot seems sensible though.

I’d guess his ego has shrunk a little over the past couple of years - that seemed to be his major pit fall.
If he’s got himself back to some level of ability between the sticks, he’s a good addition

Maybe, but objectively over the last 3 years Gazzaniga has proven himself to be a limited but much better keeper than Hart. I'm not saying Gazzaniga is anything special but he's done a decent job for us. Would be a big risk unless we're getting a good fee for Paolo and the youth keepers are looking good.
