If coco goes, I’m gonna miss him yet still understand selling him would be ideal. it would be great if the whole squad had his attitude/fight/mentality.
We would have definitely won a Trophy by now!
I know Lamela has his fans in the club who love him for his attitude - I respect that but I think this is a good decision if we can get him out after 7 seasons. We need to freshen up the attacking players

If Roma is his favoured destination, ofcourse Zaniolo is the obvious candidate for us to ask but dont think Roma would be interested. Most probably, we will end up loaning him out and look for a loan elsewhere. If we do have cash left, may be a bid for Brooks make sense as a like to like replacement for the position.
I am a paid up member of his fan club, but I agree, its time for him to move on.

there is not much happening that is not in the press

Holberg should be tomorrow, serge we are talking to Milan but still a way to go ,with Aarons coming in from from Norwich a strong possibility

We want 2 rb , lb , mid and a striker

Tanguy will only go if we get the 42 million back , the Korean defender is 50/50 happening

I can tell you now covid has has cost the club a lot there will not be mega signings on mega wages , we are looking at 5 different strikers as possible back up to Kane
Considering the lack of money we supposedly have, I gotta say that signing 2 young RBs for probably the best part of 40 odd million does seem strange, however saying that I won’t be complaining

You’re technically only spending it on one when we expect to receive the same amount of money for Aurier than what we’d spend on Aarons. Adding someone like Castagne would be great on top of that.

Honestly those look like exactly the positions we should strengthen.

Zara is NOT happening! Josè from the noises; does not want Him. Sarr of Watford is of interest. Opinion is I can’t see it happening, due to fee they would want.
Now we’re talking! Sarr would be an incredible signing for us - I’d be over the moon if we signed him. Much prefer Sarr to Zaha. Sounds like the financials will be challenging and so I guess it’ll depend on cash raised through sales.

Didn't Ndombele cost 63? Letting him go for 42 seems a bit odd.

I’m assuming this is a Levy special. 42M before a load of unrealistic add ons. Even if the add ons were realistic I can’t see either his or our Performances this season triggering any additional payments.

The interesting thing there is about Tanguy. I think any team paying a full £42m on TN this window is about as likely as us getting £25m for Lamela.

I do wonder who we plan on doing the passing to all the speed and dribble merchants. Can we really expect Giovani to carry the entire creativity burden alone?

If Lamela does go, i'd love nothing more for him than to go on and be a huge success wherever he ends up.

I'd tune in to watch him.

Yeah but that was not counting the % they gave to his previous club. I think it all added up to £65m in the end.
Their official announcement quoted that we paid €60 mill with an additional €10 mil in add ons but I’d imagine Levy has structured the deal very shrewdly so we’ll likely have that transfer paid off by 2030

Unfortunately there's very little that looks shrewd about the Ndombele deal currently!

Assuming “mid” is Højbjerg, here. Aarons/Celik would be an incredible way to transform a weakness, no idea who the LB would be since I can’t recall us being linked with one and it’s anyone’s guess on a striker. All that being said, if Levy managed that in a Non-Covid world we’d be ecstatic. Think some expectations need to be in check as that seems like a lot to do without a significant sale and major offloading of deadweight, something Levy seems to always struggle with.

Agree with this. I love a speedy winger as much as the next guy, but we still have an Eriksen shaped hole in this squad and with Bergwijn, Lucas, Son and Sessegnon all potentially vying for the wing spots, a playmaker is probably more important. Lamela is almost a hybrid - half winger, half playmaker, but doesn't excel at either.

That said, a winger who can also play up front, like Zaha, could be brought in alongside a playmaker and might make most sense.

Cheers.

Not a huge shock, he has the right attitude, just not fit enough.
Move on a few squad players and refresh the squad I guess

It's not just the fitness part though, it's the increasing number of ball rolls/step-overs and not releasing the ball fast enough especially under little pressure (he was really trying my patience in the games after lockdown any pros he'd accumulated for "keep him as a squad player" just went straight to "nope he needs to be moved on"

All in all that Bale money was largely wasted in the end.
