Not sure where the Zaha talk is coming from. Not exactly covering the cost with the sale of Lamela. We're much more likely to go for Wilson and possibly Eze. We need homegrown but affordable too.

Breezer mentioned last friday we're after Zaha.

Love Lamela, but I can’t see many clubs that would be willing to take the risk.
Yeah, unfortunately the days of lower-mid table clubs hoovering up all of our rejects for silly money are over. Premier League clubs seem to have realised there is much better value abroad or in the Championship while foreign clubs won't pay as much.

Unless someone like Villa, Leeds or Everton (who are the one club still acting like it's 2010) decides to go all out for him, I suspect the best we'd realistically get is around £15-20 million from an Italian club like Milan or Roma. Either that or a creatively structured 'Levy special' loan-to-buy deal with a bunch of clauses that mean we make a bit extra over a longer period.

If coco goes, I’m gonna miss him yet still understand selling him would be ideal. He’s a dickhead on the pitch and gives his all for the shirt which is all I can ask for. I think Jose said that he made himself available for selection even though he was injured during our Jan/feb mini crisis. He seems like a great guy and a great personality in the dressing room. I also know we should sell ASAP to get as much money as posible, and this points towards the club trying to free up some cash for another attacking addition. Benrahma, zaha, coutinho (probs very slim chance but would be amazing) would all be upgrades, and these players add that X factor, creative spark, and quality that coco never quite showed with us like he did for Roma. Still, love the guy, and it would be great if the whole squad had his attitude/fight/mentality.

Zara is NOT happening! Josè from the noises; does not want Him. Sarr of Watford is of interest. Opinion is I can’t see it happening, due to fee they would want.

I know Lamela has his fans in the club who love him for his attitude - I respect that but I think this is a good decision if we can get him out after 7 seasons. We need to freshen up the attacking players - Lamela is the most expendable given his goal/assist contribution and fact that he never seems to take his chance when given the opportunity to start.

If Roma is his favoured destination, ofcourse Zaniolo is the obvious candidate for us to ask but dont think Roma would be interested. Most probably, we will end up loaning him out and look for a loan elsewhere. If we do have cash left, may be a bid for Brooks make sense as a like to like replacement for the position.

Thank you!

I've been trying to make peace with us moving Lamela for the past few months, because he's my favorite player currently at the club but I also could see the writing on the wall, but if we were to do so in an attempt to make room for Zaha, I would feel devastated. Zaha is not all that and certainly wouldn't be worth half the money him and Palace would demand.

If it's finally the time to refresh the squad and let go of fully committed players such as Coco, then we certainly can and should do much better that Zaha.

real shame about lamela, i'd have given him a lifetime contract on £200k a week just for the stamp on fabregas but can see that it's stick/twist time on him for sure.

Dragon 1 on Coys says

there is not much happening that is not in the press

Holberg should be tomorrow, serge we are talking to Milan but still a way to go ,with Aarons coming in from from Norwich a strong possibility

We want 2 rb , lb , mid and a striker

Tanguy will only go if we get the 42 million back , the Korean defender is 50/50 happening

I can tell you now covid has has cost the club a lot there will not be mega signings on mega wages , we are looking at 5 different strikers as possible back up to Kane

I love Lamela but out of all our attacking players, if one has to make way then he’s the obvious choice.

Moura’s going nowhere, Bergwijn just arrived, Dele will no doubt be given a couple more windows to recapture his form, and Son and Kane aren’t up for discussion.

Lamela seems like one of the most obviously-upgradable squad players, especially given his age.

Interesting as there have been no links to LBs. Like I was saying in the Aaron’s thread, Aaron’s + Celik makes so much sense.
