With the games coming thick and fast he should, provided he's doing enough in training, be given substitute appearances if for no other reason than keeping the first-choice players fresh. If he's given those opportunities then he's got to prove himself just as Lo Celso did earlier in the season.

It's clearly just a mistake. No one in the history of mix ups would have any trouble distinguishing between Diop and Tielemans. They play in different positions and for different teams. And seeing as you're bringing skin colour up here, their skin tones are miles apart.

I guess they don't have access to Google then? I work in social media and digital communications. Before you share anything you cross check to make sure it's right.

It's easy to say 'it's just to a mistake' but mix ups in imagery for black and mixed race celebrities happens far too often for it always to be a 'mistake'. The racism might not be conscious or in this incident it might just be a mix up but just know this happens alot, and there is much more at play here than sloppiness.

I think Jose wants him to be angry. He said in the press conference yesterday that Lo Celso gave him the response he wanted by showing him he is wrong. NDombele will definitely be frustrated stuck on the bench left wondering when his next minutes will come. When they do come he and Jose know that he will need to take the opportunity to impress.

John Barnes called minamino minamoto the other day, no one batted an eyelid

I don’t think he was being racist but just made a mistake, people do

If he's going to be left on the bench we better win. A manager whose side is losing with a hugely expensive signing left on the bench will soon find himself under a lot of pressure.

I feel sorry for him today - there was nothing to turn this titanic of a performance around, and he wasn't going to do it alone.

He needs game time, everyone, most importantly himself, need to find out if he has it, whether it's to be or not to be at Spurs.

Until he gets time, none of us will no.

Funnily enough, our performance today might be the catalyst for Ndombele to get more starts. We need to lessen the creative load placed on GLC and the only other player that can drive the ball up the field and make incisive passes is Tanguy.

Should be given more opportunities now we have nothing to play for.

If Jose had set us up with more midfielders, I think he would have had a great opportunity to come on and help us win it. Problem is we went top heavy so that by the time he came on Sheff Utd had dropped deeper and we no longer had the space for runners and were chasing the game.

Never a good situation for a player like him.

I agree.

I know it's not the perfect blend but with Lo Celso and Sissoko being grafters, I think Jose should go with.

Sissoko
Ndombele
Lo Celso

Bergwijn. Son
Kane

Time to let Lo Celso and Ndombele build up chemistry and whilst we lack a DM to perfectly support them, at least Sissoko can screen and fight, allowing us to push on Lo Celso.

Our defending was awful today and we don't have adequate cover so I'd rather we try be more of a threat.

I don’t think Sissoko and Bergwijn should be starting for us.
Lamela gets the midfield nod. Did more in 5 minds that Berg in 50. Not too many players have fight and appetite atm but Lamela does.
And I still see Sissoko as a very limited player. Strong running but really doesn’t know what to do with the ball or what spaces to move into

Agreed. Plus, GLC does his fair share of tracking back and winning the ball for us, so it would still offer us some solidity.

Maybe Skipp for sissoko, we know what sissoko can and can’t do, get Skipp in and see what he can do in the last few games

But the point is Sissoko is the best and only option available for this role.

Winks can't cover the space quick enough and isn't defensive minded.

Lo Celso is ineffective as a DM and we need him forward.

Ndombele can't play there certainly not.

It's the it way, for now, how we can fit him in.....And it once again highlights the utter incompetence of our recruitment.

Dier had a bad illness and wasn't showing signs of being a DM anymore, whereas we knew Wanyama was crocked. Yet we did nothing to address it.

A year before we Dembele was really struggling but we decided to show him loyalty and let him wait for a club to give him a big payday but never bothered to bring in his eventual replacement.

What the hell were we doing???

As I said elsewhere, our transfer activity 2017-2019 demonstrates woeful complacency and arrogance on the part of Levy and Poch.

Selling Dembele with no replacement despite having a good year to line one up and knowing Eriksen was on his way out too was unforgivable negligence.

Expecting Mourinho to perform miracles when your first team midfield options include Winks, Sissoko and Dier is absolutely bonkers.

Ok, so it's double checked and happens anyway. It must be a conscious decision then? Some sort of message? "Look how similar every non white person is, even though their skin tones are completely different"? It doesn't make sense at all.

It's not a mix up. It's a mistake. No one is ever going to get Tielemans and Diop mixed up. You're accusing someone you know nothing about of being a racist based on very little evidence. People make mistakes.
