I think Douglas Luiz plays like PEH, but better on the ball and a bit quicker. If Villa go down, he'd probably be affordable for us and I'd rather we signed him than PEH.
Holy crap you were a regular back in SC’s heydey, what ever happened?

Watching the Burnley game tonight and again, McNeil is impressing. Any time I’ve seen him play he has stood out and has a peach of a left foot. Taking on a bit more responsibility tonight due to a host of injuries and hasn’t done too badly. One we should be trying for!

It's the first time I've seen him line up in central midfield and it definitely looks like he has the ability to control a game. Burnley would surely demand a huge fee for him, though.

Yeah he’s usually been placed out the left side, like a more traditional winger. He is very one footed but I was impressed with how he faired in the middle. Found he wasn’t scared to take control of the ball and drive at them or look for that opening to release his team mates.

No doubt they would command a huge fee but could be a more cost effective option than going for the likes of Grealish or Cantwell. He’s a bit behind Grealish’s level but I’d put him on par with Cantwell. All three will be in high demand this summer.

McNeil has a peach of a left foot on him. I didn't see him play tonight so cannot comment, but there has been reported interest in the past. My point of view is that he would be an ok squad addition, but we are well enough stocked in that area not to buy. Especially at the price that Burnley would ask.

Blimey, I remember you. You were one of the regulars here and used to have some classic back and forths with BC back in the day about Spurs until you pretty much vanished. Nice to see you're posting again

I think Douglas luiz will be a good affordable signing plus he is only 22

Tyrick Mitchell from Crystal Palace would be a nice addition. The left footed Wan Bisaka

There are a lot of good or at least talented young players going down this season. My issue with several of the players you mention is that we really have to change our shape drastically to fit them in. McGinn is a player I rate highly but where would he play in our system? Same with Brooks (who I really hope can rediscover some form after a full year out).

The defenders like Aarons or Godfrey or even Rice (fat chance of that one though) are easier to find a role in the team for.

And I wouldn't touch Felipe Anderson with a bargepole after his cameo against us on Tuesday. He just downs tools when he's not up for it, and he's far too often not.

The Athletic article says we previously had him on trial. Doesn't say why he didn't join us.

I’m still surprised there’s been virtually no links to Malang Sarr, young, left foot CB and free, I’m not 100% sure how good he is but he ticks a lot of boxes
I was singing his praises 12 months ago. He is top drawer with a captains temperament.
France have the best strength in depth at CB so he doesn’t get near the squad yet. But if he were English he’d be knocking at the door at 21.

Rumours in France are inter milan are after him but I think hell go to Germany. Sadly.

Out of those I’d certainly take Aaron’s, Cantwell, Godfrey, Doucoure, Grealish (no1 of them all), Luiz, and Brooks. I’m guessing nearly every other team in the Prem would too tho.

To be fair, being at West Ham does that to a player. It's a surprising there's not more suicide attempts by their squad.

I’d add to that:

Angel Gomes is walking from United on a free today. He’s been prolific at youth level and would be a great signing. Scored a great goal against us in preseason too.

Weird, according to the media all players hate Mourinho and he doesn’t play youngsters, that can’t be correct…
