Massively clutching at straws guys.

The press don't think it's happening

The most reliable ITK (by far - no offence intended to others) is suggesting it's not happening

As much as we would like it (and I really would) at present it doesn't look like it will happen.

Trying to re-imagine what JJ's said into something good is wishful thinking in the extreme
You must be new here

I dunno, missing out on a world class player in their prime for 'not that unreasonable' monies we were prepared to pay after having agreed wages and that but not being prepared to pay the reported 14M for image rights to secure the deal. I'd say missing out on Dybala is won't be topped for a little while even if we lose out on Campos.
I thought the then reported image rights was 40m, not 14m. Big difference

I think the important factor is the fact Dybala is still at Juve. If it was a really easy deal that we just needed to pay up for then surely a competitor with more money would have bought him.

The rights were x amount but the licence holders wanted 4 times what they paid for them hence no deal.

I don't believe we know this for a fact but your response also fails to answer why a wealthier club didn't buy him if the deal was so easy.

I’m stating the obvious here and to an extent what’s been reported, but don’t expect much to happen this summer RE transfers as things currently stand. This window will be limited to spending money we make from selling players, Swap deals, free transfers and some loans if they aren’t too expensive. We will use a few promising young players from our academy. Players that the club are happy to sell if the price is right (as things stand): Lamela, Foyth, Sissoko, Rose, KWP (in a swap). On a personal level I’m convinced that Foyth can change Jose’s mind with a couple of decent performances over coming games.

So just like every other transfer window then. Exciting times.

Seeing the players we've been linked to the last 6 months, the club is probably praying KWP has a burner the last 9 games and gets Saints to be fawning over signing him.

Wonder if the KWP in a swap is for Hojbjerg fella

The issue of course is all of the smaller type of clubs that would want those players aren't going to have any money to buy any of those.

Cheers for passing on but this is what people were afraid of when Mourinho was initially appointed. Can’t see Mourinho being on board with that kind of transfer window for long even if he understands the circumstances. I was fully on board with his appointment but this is exactly what I was afraid of. I can see road bumps on the horizon.

With this info from someone I trust when it comes to info I can see us doing all we can for a window that’s looks like Meunier, Hojlberg, Willian and Fraser with Fraser maybe being converted into a LWB Rose replacement. Coutinho on a season long loan might be one to watch as well although I doubt it based on the fees and wages involved.
