And English club asked the players to take a 70% wage cut? Jesus christ. Just how bad of financial shape is that club in?

Get them in full antibacterial suits (with red for shirt pulling) & they can play no probs.

Not sure if you are aware of this, but nobody gives a fuck about bacteria. There is a Virus around at the moment.

There was even a suggestion on the BBC in a interview with Glenn Murry today that players would to play games with masks on & not just in training, a joke!

That dosn't sound as if the players are prepared to give much back to their clubs, many of whom kept them on a full salary?
(Have I got my facts correct here Spurs fans?)

We simply cannot and should not finish the season. Scrap it. Reset. So what if some clubs will lose out. This is bigger than that. They are putting money, ahead of people's lives.

Sorry who's lives? Are you suggesting that any professional football player is at risk of losing his life by playing behind closed doors?

We don't know the long term effects that Covid 19 can have either, although it's been suggested that it could cause permanent respiratory damage. If that's the case, it's ridiculous to expect professional athletes to take any chances until we're sure of the details, and we're way, way off that right now.

Personally, I think playing, even if behind closed doors, sets a terrible example and provides a seriously mixed message to the general public.

Yes. Potentially yes he is. It's why we have NO CONTACT outside of the home. It's not just 22 footballers on the field, there will be upwards of 400-500 people involved in a match day having to interact and mingle to make the game possible. Each person traveling to the game that's involved in some way, can very easily pick up the virus from ANYTHING or ANYONE. Just takes one person. It's not just that, while the NHS and hospitals around Europe are struggling with COVID, Hundreds of medics and doctors etc will be pulled from helping fight this thing all in the name of entertainment. It's just wrong. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth to think that thousands of people are still dying and they think it's OK to put on a completely pointless event.

Just watching a report on the news saying some patients can take up to 18 months to fully recover form Covid19.

Think about that, if we had to lose 1 or more players for 18 months because they started playing again too soon.
It doesn’t make sense and as tommyt says above sets a really bad example to the general public.

I didn't realise it has been around for 18 months?

People wake up, the media have massively over hyped this, the government have been dragged along with them. The actual facts coming in are this is comparable to a bad flu. Yes people will die, as they do every year, and yes anyone vulnerable should be protected.

But this Lockdown is madness, its absolutely crazy to think that this Virus will not be around afterwards, but it is not the Black Death! 99% of people will recover and most young fit healthy people won't even know they've had it!

I really do despair how the General Public have just allowed themselves to surrender their freedoms with no serious questions being asked and are cowering in fear!

Don't believe the absolute garbage the BBC put out and educate yourselves as to what is actually going on in the World!

There have been 211,364 cases of Covid-19 in the UK and 31,241 deaths, hardly a 99% reoovery rate Thank you for putting us straight, doctor.

Apologies, don't want to come across like that, but there is another clear argument against what we are doing. People seem to be scared and watching the news I don't blame them but you don't have to live in fear!

The general public are not cowering in fear. They are being responsible citizens, not just concerned for themselves, but for their communities. I'm sorry, but it's your thinking is why this will in all likely-hood, be around for the rest of the year, It's this 'young peoples' mentality that will bring a 2nd and/or 3rd wave. It's the young people that think this is being blown out of proportion that will give it to their grandparents and the vulnerable. There is zero guarantee that once you've had it, you will be immune to it.

This lockdown is not madness. What IS madness is you're willing to play russian roullette with people's lives – including your own. OK, most people will probably be safe. But you may have an underlying condition that you're not aware of.

Reported cases., and given that Covid 19 is going on most death certificates without actually being the result of death, you can see two major flaws with what you have posted there.

No they are genuinely and unreasonably scared. I'm not young by the way, and the only end to this virus will be when enough people have caught it. It will then burn itself out and thus protect those more vulnerable. THAT is the only way in which it can be beaten!

Of course there will be other 'waves' as more people need to catch it, the lockdown was only ever supposed to ensure the NHS wasn't overwhelmed - something that we haven't come close to.

Follow the links I have added and at least you will have another resource to give you information. Don't take what you see on the News as fact!
