I miss football from a few seasons ago
I do still miss it now but lost a lot of enthusiasm this season. I want next season after a good window and then I will be more excited again.

It actually hit me how much I'm missing the simple act of booting a ball about, seeing the green of the turf, the noise of a crowd big or small. I played PES 3 hours straight the other night, watching all the old Premier League compliations... while the bairn was running around the field near us, I was doing keepy ups.

I NEED FOOTBALL!

I might be wrong but I’m sure that’s the only pub that uses glasses instead of plastic?
I've never been served a pint in anything other than a proper glass. They do something I like in a pub as well, in which they don't fuss with matching glasses... San Miguel in a Fosters glass, or Guinness in one of those old dimpled tankards. Don't know why but I love that.

Can't speak for others, the only other one I've been in since we left the old Lane was the Bill Nick.

I’ve not been in but would always look in.

The Ship is my favourite. Midweek you find some serious games of dominos going on in there.

I miss it. I don't miss the foul mood it would put me in when we'd lose. In particular, the last 14 months have not been enjoyable. And has often left me in a huff after another ugly display. But then again, my world feels like there's this vague void to it. A hole of sorts. And that's football. It's been such a huge part of my life since i was 6 years old. So, it just feels very odd.

It reminds me of when the Seattle Supersonics left and were relocated to Oklahoma. I used to love watching them live and on tv. Then one day they were gone. It felt very weird for about two years because i really didn't care about the rest of the NBA. But after a while i just forgot about them and moved on. Of course it helped that a year after they buggered off we got our first MLS team and now i follow them. Not as religiously as Spurs, but it definitely helped fill a hole of where the Sonics usec to be.

Have zero interest in this season. Written off. No interest in any attempts to finish it. So don't miss it at the moment. Have adjusted.

I would like forward to a new, proper, season starting. Although that seems impossible for even in September.

if you are missing football, then the K-League YouTube channel is broadcasting the game on Friday:

That whole franchise thing is strange. It's kind of hard to form a bond with a team that could literally up sticks and move to a different part of the country.

I think what I miss most is having something to look forward to.

Even when Spurs are shite and watching them is a chore there's always that little frisson of excitement on match day. The knowledge that there's a game on just gives the day a little something extra, similar to how after we lose the remainder of the day is slightly tainted.

I'm also gutted about the Euros and that's always a summer-defining event and great fun even if England are crap.

Still no. To the point where if I'm checking out a news site like the BBC or summat and I see a link to a story where someone connected to football is putting forward some kind of plan for how it can all be re-started somehow (be it finishing the 2019/20 season or starting a new season later in the future), my first reaction is to think, "Oh fuck, I hope that doesn't happen."

Find myself in a personally contradictory position where I don't want the entire game to collapse because it would have disastrous economic implications for a lot of decent hard-working wage-earners employed by football clubs and the rest of the associated supply chain*, but also from my own selfish perspective I simultaneously hope that it doesn't ever start again because the last couple of months have shown me pretty emphatically that I'm happier without Spurs and football in my life.

*albeit zero fucks given about the players and staff at the top of the game earning vast salaries well beyond the dreams of us working stiffs; I would shed not a single tear if no player ever again earned tens of thousands of pounds per week

Couldn’t you just choose to no longer follow Spurs and / or football once it returns if you’re that much happier without it?

I've found myself far too excited at the Bundesliga starting up again. I've got BT sport through my EE contract, so I'll be tuning in to whatever they have on.

I've a good many interests, from geeky to mainstream. But all this has made me appreciate how large a chunk of my life revolves around football. It's definitely a gap.
