I find the United speculation insulting.

A couple of good games and they're back? Nah, they're miles away.

And we're ahead of them despite this season. We've had a mare with injurues and upheaval.

Madrid or even City, I could understand.

But to help United get back to the top, and climb above us, would be a new fucking low with all things Tottenham.

Eh? 4 points ahead of us, +7 goal differential on us as well and they've already beaten us this season and were about to do the double on us before Coronavirus saved us. Rashford and Kane got injured the same week and they've been missing Pogba majority of the season.

Kane and Rashford getting fed by Bruno & Pogba? Yikes.

People vastly underestimate the allure of United because of their recent years, even though they've still won trophies more recently and frequently than us. Could easily see that Kane would think he is the missing piece of their puzzle.

Depends what way you look at it. You're looking at it with a defeatist attitude, I've been guilty of that in the past.

We've had a complete fucking nightmare this season and they're only four points ahead of us ?

Seriously, we've been the better of the two sides for the majority of the last 5/6 years.

We've now got an amazing stadium and facilities.

Our best player, in a very, very long time and one of our own... To even contemplate selling him to United would be the most unambitious sign of all time.

He's entering his peak, not coming out of it.

Gotta love how the apparent word from us in that we won't sell to United or any PL club is completely ignored amongst pundits and most of the media in general.

Just can't see any club being able to afford the kind of fee Levy would want for Kane at the moment.

Yeah I’m finding all of the transfer speculation in the press pretty unbelievable at the moment. Clubs across the world don’t know if they’ll have money to keep the lights on by the end of the year. They don’t know when they’ll next play a game or take a penny of ticket or tv money. They might have a wish list, but I doubt we will see any big moves until the whole covid thing has died down a bit.

If that is really what the club said, there may be some truth in that Kane had expressed a desire to go. Otherwise, the club would have said he's not for sale to anybody.

Yeah I mean, I don't know if that was official wording from the club or someone who has 'strong ties' with the club or something but you would think the club would know to just say 'not to Man United' if they were to even comment on the situation as also stating 'and to no other PL club' obviously creates a whole other story from the headline.

I personally think Kane would like to stay, but obviously only if we really push forward. We'd probably have to 'do a Liverpool' in terms of progressing. I'd be surprised if at this current time he would have expressed his desire to leave, but that's just my opinion.

Everything depends on how bad the finances of clubs are. The top few will pick the next dozen clean but then they will in turn take the cream from everyone else at knockdown prices. The kind of situation made for DL

Looks like Real have other targets

Real Madrid have a plan to sign Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland, 19, from Borussia Dortmund this year and France forward Kylian Mbappe, 21, from Paris St-Germain in 2021. (Marca)

Summer 2022 is the first time we’ll be under any pressure to sell. Until then, it’ll take a world record bid to get him. At that point, he’ll be 29 and will have given us service worthy of being called a legend and be in our top ten Greatest players of all time*(he’s not far off at this point but I’d like at least one more great season out of him guest). As such, as long as it wasn’t for Arsenal, I’d wish him well with any transfer and be grateful for having witnessed his best work first hand. If he left now before then I’d be pissed off but if it was for one of the current serial winners in world football I’d accept it and hope we strengthened appropriately. Likely to be a moot point, I don’t see it happening when the contract is currently weighted so strongly in our favour.

Every player ultimately leaves every club, it’s only our own hubris as fans which makes it seem so much worse if it’s while that player is of use to another club.

* in no particular order, for me, and pretty much solely based on stories I was brought up with and hours of recorded VHS footage: Greaves Hoddle Mackay Blanchflower Jones Jennings Perryman Chivers Knowles Ardiles.

I reckon they made it up, just like they made up the Man U links. There's noting to see here at the moment I suspect.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, you can see the desperation from the media to try and create dramatic stories from nothing.

It’s Newcastle you have to watch out for not united if they get this takeover Kane would be a perfect statement signing and they would be a cert to win things next few years with that backing

I can't agree with this Pinky . They've just stapled his hammy back onto the bone...We've already been seeing for the last 18 months - 2 years a Kane playing a different style possibly to protect his often injured body .Owen was honest about his hammy recently..he said he never sprinted because he worried about the injury...Kane is certainly going to be aware of this danger when playing .

He can still shoot brilliantly, his passes are sublime and is a perfect pen taker....but the bustling beast-mode Kane has quietly left us imo .The man who would terrorise CB's, press like a mad thing and create his own goals out of nothing , is far less in evidence .

The 200mill Man U story looks like pure invention to me , but should we get a huge offer from a foreign team ,its gonna have to be thought about at least imo .

I meant age wise mate. I agree his injuries are a concern, but he's a far more physical athelete than Owen ever was and we don't know how he'll go after this injury.
