Not a chance, just 3 days after holding a meeting, which unanimously suggested the season was to continue and a deadline was not set, and in the last few days lifting Saturday broadcasting restrictions and also FIFA announcing that the transfer windows will be adjusted to fit between seasons.

This story is total bollocks (excuse my French)

Void please

Not going to happen, certainly no decision in next month or 2, and if it did following what the Belgian League and now the Scottish Leagues are both advocating, then current positions will likely stand anyway, so we would likely be out of Europe

Belgian League had one game remaining and Club Brugge were 15 points ahead at top so slightly different to Premier League. However it would be no surprise if they finish season early and declare Liverpool Champions regardless of whether it's mathematically possible for them to not be Champions. Its relegation that's is nigh on impossible to be fair with as if we were in the relegation spots right now we would be screaming for the season to restart.

No Belgian League had 11 games remaining with Bruges in effect 8 points clear. After all sides have played each other twice, top 6 play each other home and away, but points earned so far in league are halved. They play a 40 game season, only 29 played so far.

And Scotland have just said it will be based on points per game to account for any team having played less games, which if repeated here would mean Arsenal would finish above us, but all signs are that Premier League will not be cancelling League anyway and we will be playing in July/August and in all likelihood behind closed doors

My bad was just looking at the 30 game portion of it.

Whatever is decided, it's not going to be fair on someone. You can't say lets just cancel the season and crown Liverpool champions, cancel means cancel, because if you make 'pool champions, you have to relegate teams as well. Can't have one rule for them one rule for everyone else. Let's be honest, Liverpool not winning the title (apart from the entire footballing world being delighted), should be the least of our concerns. Relegation is much more important than them not winning. The amount of clubs that could go bust in the lower leagues because of what's happening. This is no-ones fault.

IMO if we choose to finish the season, we either finish whenever that may be, and if it's too late in the year, then we simply miss next season to reset. (obviously has an entire set of problems - financials), or we finish this season, whenever that is. And the seasons from this point on will be different. So instead of August to May, it might be October to July going forward.

The above seem to be the only fair way of doing it. Whatever is decided it has to be across Europe.

That's all true.

Problem is PFA seeing things very differently.

Does anyone know what is happening in the Belgian league?

Club Bruges had mathematically won the league anyway but I believe only the bottom side gets relegated and there are 2 points between bottom and 2nd bottom. Have they announced the title winner and voided the rest?

I think voiding the season is becoming the only option for us.

I know it sounds silly but I’m sure back in the day cup finals etc were decided on the toss of a coin. Why not just have one executive from each club attend and toss a coin with the opposite exec for each remaining game. Liverpool would still win the league, relegation would be fun. Leeds would probably come up. Could even roll a dice and take what you get as a score that way you’ve still got goal difference.

I just cant see a fair way to do it and as stupid an idea as it is this would be pretty fair.

No Bruges hadn't, and if you read maybe 3 posts up up that is explained. They were 8 points clear with 11 games to go.
They are recommending all positions are as standing, points per game to allow for any teams not having played same amount of games.
European places and relegation is happening in Belgium based on current positions also (if the season is cancelled, and exactly the same has happened today in Scotland as how they propose to resolve it, if the season does not finish)

Assuming all Leagues decide the same method, it means we would finish 9th behind Arsenal.

Liverpool Champions
Man City, Leicester and Chelsea in Champions League
Man Utd, Wolves, Sheffield Utd in Europa

If Man City appeal rejected then Man Utd would go to Champions League, Arsenal in to Europa.

Norwich, Villa and Bournemouth would be relegated with Leeds, West Brom and Fulham promoted if we follow the Belgian and Scottish proposals.

However still think this will not come to this, and we will be playing behind closed doors to finish it off, as the legal ramifications of above would be too much

Finish the season behind closed doors between mid June to end of July (around 6 weeks). That's from 3 months after the lock down started.
Start next season 2 weeks after this one finishes (the players have been well rested now and will have another 2 week break in winter)
Cut down the cup competitions next season to help (no cup replays, semi finals over 1 leg at a neutral stadium)
The transfer window is the trickier one but as long as they don't allow new signings to play this season it should be ok.

As long as Liverpool doesn't get to win the title, I don't care if we end up in or our of Europe.

I still don’t think people are getting how much this virus is going to affect us going forward. Football is dead for at least the next 4-6 months. Even behind closed doors you still have the possibility for 28 players running around in close proximity to each other sweat everywhere. China only just easing restrictions for work 4 months after look down. What any FA says publicly will be very different to what is said behind closed doors.
