Dare I say it though (and I am not saying that what you are saying isn't valid - of course it is) but would Spurs fans be quite so cavalier about voiding the season if we were doing well and in a good position to win a trophy? I know it's hard to know how one would think if we were in a better position but I just feel like more people would be aggrieved if we stood to lose out rather than being in a position where the season is a write off.

I fully agree I think if we put ourselves in Liverpool position I would imagine 99% of us would be screaming that the league has to continue.

If they get the ok from the government and the situation eases or doesn't get as bad as they predict and they can get the league up and running again then personally I'm all for it finishing. From everything we are hearing at the moment I just really don't see it happening so the league can finish before end of June/mid July at the latest. Which if it doesn't finish by mid July at the latest then surely they really are going to have to void it or take it at the positions teams are now. Either one is going to open up whole legal minefield

Absolutely. I think that you can see it either way that people have an agenda for wanting the season continued or voided. On the other hand, there are also people that genuinely don't have a 'dog in the hunt' so to speak and just have a good, non partisan reason for feeling as they do.

I only want the season voided if it helps us retain our CL status next season

The only fair thing to do is finish it in some capacity however

To void it would be outrageous to Liverpool and the likes of WBA and Leeds

To end the season as is would also be outrageous to likes of Villa who would get relegated without a fighting chance and teams like Wolves or Sheff Utd who wouldn't get the chance of CL football next year

As a Spurs fan though, I want us to forget this shitty season ever happened and I'd be more than happy if it were voided and we got out of jail

Void it and let us f**k next season up spectacularly

No way would the guv believe that this could be done behind closed doors. Liverpool are two wins away from their first title, even if the stadium is empty and pubs are closed they will still be round each others home in their gardens. It just can’t happen.

If the season was Null & Void no teams would be relegated, so Villa would be ok.

Would there be such a sustained push in the media for it though if it were us, Man City or Chelsea rather than Liverpool?

I somehow doubt it.

Is there a "sustained push" for it though? It's very easy to that everything comes down to a media love in with Liverpool but I don't think it's the case in this instance. Liverpool will be mentioned in any talks like this because they are at the pinnacle of the football leagues and are miles clear of the pack, and any ex-Liverpool player pundits are going to have a bias towards them as well.

Completing the current season is going to be the least complicated situation which is why people will have it as plan A for now. It's not without it's troubles of course, but the extent of those troubles will be largely based on how long the virus measures are in place which is still unknown.

Whilst I personally think the season will be voided I can fully understand why the powers that be and the talking heads are keeping completion at the forefront of the conversation. Clubs are going to get into financial trouble (even PL clubs if the virus runs long enough) and there will be issues around player contracts (and of course the money-grabbing agents) so once that happens and the "integrity of the league" stuff is out the window, I reckon that's when we will see things getting voided.

In our hour of need - someone has the right idea. They’ve started a petition to get the Euro 96 tournament shown on U.K. TV to help us though these dark times of no football

I think it’s pretty obvious that they can’t even start thinking about anything till June. At that point last season will just seem so far away that given the choice between starting a new season fresh in say September or somehow squeezing in end of 19/20 there will surely be only one decision to null and void 19/20.

Obviously not comparable to the rest of the football league but the National League has apparently postponed the rest of the season.

Feels like there are reasonably fair ways to end it (reasonably fair with an obvious Spurs bias) -

1. Just give LFC the trophy. They are so far ahead it’s just silly.

2. No relegation. Just do a 23 team league next year. Cancel the League Cup for a year to make room for more games. Start the season a bit earlier given the extended layoff. 6 teams go down next season.

3. Champs Lge spots just go back to last season. Lester can take City’s place since they are banned.

4. Europa is a bit tougher, but last year’s (Wolves/United/Arsenal) is pretty good. Sheffield gets a bit screwed (but see below)

5. Maybe one other solution is simply to split the baseline European revenue amongst the top 8-10 teams in the EPL. Would be good if all Europe did similar. That way, nobody can really claim they got hugely disadvantaged by the season getting cut off and side benefit of helping enhance a bit more parity.

There's no football and yet people are still able to trot out the conspiracy that there's a media bias against Spurs or in favour of someone else or whatever for some reason. What possible reason could the media -who need content to keep people going to their channels and websites- be keen for the football season to start as soon as possible and provide content for them? It's a mystery!

Though i haven't seen a 'sustained push' for that anyway but that could be that i dont have Sky or BT, who will be haemorrhaging money i would imagine.
