The tactics and system first half were appalling.

However, I don’t think Ndombele was playing the role he was asked to. He was supposed to be linking play and be the engine of the team. Skipp was holding.

Ndombele just didn’t work hard enough to affect the game. He was not showing for the ball. When he got it he wasn’t moving it quickly enough.

In defence he didn’t work hard enough. I would like to see his sprint stats. I didn’t see him sprint anywhere. He ambled.

If you compare to Lo Celso the difference is incredible.

I don’t like the criticism of him but it’s been coming. I am desperate for Ndombele to succeed and maximise his talent.

It’s a shame that it’s starting to look like he doesn’t have this same desperation to succeed.

I will still give him time. He needs a pre season next year. There is still hope.

He is living in Sissokos house. Sissoko is the hardest worker on the team. Somebody should ask Sissoko what's up with NDombele

That's so wrong....you can't put that first half performance solely down to Ndombele. Mourinho is an idiot he has pervious with other players at different clubs he can't help himself.
Where did I ever put the first half performance down solely to him? Obviously the tactics were wrong as well. But Ndombele's lackadaisical attitude goes far beyond just the first half today, it's been an ever-present problem. The juxtaposition of Ndombele's first half performance and GLC taking the game by the scruff of the neck was absolutely glaring today. Ndombele has to come to understand that being a top CM in the Premier League requires the kind of application that Lo Celso puts in every time he plays. Hopefully he'll get there.

Go back and look at some of his performances for Lyon in the CL particularly and you can see what a massive talent this guy is. It’s clearly not working for him right now but to write him off is insane. He has the potential to be world class and I dont say that lightly.

I don’t think he is a Mourinho type player in that he can be lazy at times and at other times looks lazy even if he isn’t. NDombele is the kind of player you build a team around not kick to the curb after an injury riddled first season.

Sissoko was utter garbage for his first couple seasons and that’s being polite and he never got called out by Poch and he was our best player last season.

I hope NDombele doesn’t become Jose’s scapegoat and ends up as a write off as that would be tragic.

He's certainly not endearing himself to management or the fans at the moment. I'm bored of everybody feeling like they have to caveat every criticism of him with "he clearly has ability" so did David Bentley but talent will only get you so far.

He basically has what's left of this season to apply himself and if he doesn't I can see him moving with us taking a substantial financial hit or him sitting doing nothing for his wages just like Bentley did.

The 5-2-3 first half was a mess and the cm2 had a thankless task, but he is such a stroller. It is no surprise that he's first to enrage Mourinho.

No problem with what mourinho's said. It's perfectly reasonable. He's been trying to get some effort from ndombele for months and nothing else seems to be working.

Jose really is a toxic ****

What else is he supposed to do? The guy clearly has an application issue, he's approached it every way possible prior to this and it hasn't worked. Im no Jose fan but I'm not mad at him for trying to provoke something, anything, out of this guy.

I think it’s not across the line to suggest that this signing was very exciting.
Imagine how it would have turned out if he actually was a footballer.

Does history suggest this ends well?

He’s right that he’s got to give more, but calling out players like that in public doesn’t work anymore. All it does is have them straight on to their agent looking for an exit door.

I’ve defended Ndombele through the injury spell but I have to say I think Jose’s comments are fair. It’s absurd that we’ve got a group of players who we haven’t been able to rotate at all, and who are clearly fatigued, who nevertheless display far more desire and commitment than Ndombele. He’s got to sort his attitude out and if it takes being publicly challenged by the manager then so be it.
I don’t think any amount of ‘calling him out’ will have any effect, I can see him going out on a couple of loans and still being on our books after Jose has left.

Playing in front of five CH, s and behind zero forwards isn't gonna help,
Didn't think he was the worse player first half though he was poor.
Jose master of deflection, first half tactics and formation was gash and as bad if not worse than ndombele,
