How timely. Seems to me the FA relook into this seeing how coronavirus cases are rising in Europe now. If so is damn unwarranted and despicable. That happened so long ago.

You know what else isn't funny? Seeing racism where there isn't any.
I have to agree. Dele's tweet was clearly stupid. Most likely he would have posted similar if it was any country where coronavirus was taking hold and just chosen one representative of the race that was involved to feature in his 'joke'.

I agree 100% that the tweet was ill-judged, prejudiced and based on stereotyping, but it was not racist. Racism is acting on the beliefs that one holds. Unlike some *ahem VARDY* Dele didn't treat anyone differently or call them names because of their race. Not that it's so much better, but Alli was being prejudicial and stereotypical.

As I said above, I think he'll get a one game ban, similar to what Bernard got for his tweet about Mendy. Hopefully Dele will learn something about what is appropriate and not to post, especially as a person with his standing.

His tweet demonstrated racism prejudice which is a form of racism in itself. It’s no different to saying every Muslim is a terrorist

We could debate back and forth all day parsing the definitions of each term, but for me his tweet wasn't racist in and of itself. I think the tweet reflected a stereotype and not any inherent belief or behaviour against Asians.

Whilst I agree with sentiments of your post, there is something inherently wrong about someone who hold prejudicial views about someone because of race.
Just because they don’t act out on those view, doesn’t give them a pass. There is something fake about someone that may smile with you, while they actually hate you, especially if they hate you simply because of your race.
For that reason what Ali did was wrong, and not ill judged, in my view.
