I think one game is the best case scenario. That's what Mendy got earlier this season but I'd argue this is considerably worse since he filmed an unsuspecting person for his racist video, rather than made a joke with a teammate who didn't see anyhting wrong with it. They'll decide by the 14th of March so a three-game ban at that point would see him miss the six-pointers with Manchester and Sheffield United and the derby with West Ham.

Bernardo Silva, not Mendy*

And he got 1 game ban so expect the same for Dele.

Duh, thank you! And I hope so but as I say this looks a more serious case on the surface. 2 games would be my guess. (At the more serious end of the spectrum, Andre Gray got four games for his homophobic tweets)

Unlike Silva, it’s difficult to feel too sorry for Dele to honest. Not sure what he was thinking.

Hopefully he only gets a one game ban. Just learn from it and move on

It was racism through ignorance/stupidity rather than overt racism but doing what he did just isn't on in this day and age and he absolutely should know better, especially with an Asian team mate.

I'm sure that with careful timing the ban will conincide with Winks who is now 2 bookings away from a 2 game ban :-(

We really do like to find the most audacious and ridiculous ways to fuck ourselves over don't we?

It's kinda unbelievable really. But at the same time totally believeable with us

Plead guilty, express your regret and take the punishment. 1-2 game ban and move on. Don’t drag it out, plead ignorance and end up getting the book thrown at him.

‘They also allege it "constitutes an “Aggravated Breach”, with a reference, whether express or implied, to race and/or colour and/or ethnic origin and/or nationality". The Spurs man has until Thursday March 5 to provide a response. He will be available to play in the meantime.

Aggravated means at least a 2 game ban I reckon. Probably give 3 and we get it down to 2 on appeal. Ugh.

I wonder if Dele Alli really wants to be a top level footballer.

Performance is far beyond the level of what can be considered "top level". Nevermind his attitude and work ethic.

I am so tired of him. Can we not cash in while he still worth something ?

He was obviously being influenced by the Corolavirus outbreak in Asia/China according to the media.

He made a poor error of judgement hopefully he will learn and become a better person.

Dele is a very talented footballer who scores goals at international level.
JM has to build a team and he has to be a major cog. Teams are made up of many different talents. We have to stop attacking players who are our future.
It has been proven that very few of the recent purchases have worked out so we need to develop our youth, buy well and realise that Dele and Kane are part of our future.

I just hope we can cope without the 3-4 nonchalant, unaccurate flicks and a quicker counter attacking build up.

In all seriousness though, this is the last thing we need with our options already thin.

Dele was an idiot to do what he did, we know this..and he probably also knows it too. The FA, given the current circumstances with this virus, will probably throw the book at him, and he knows he deserves it. Last thing we need. Make him pay his wages, while banned, to COVID-19 prevention funds.

He has to realise he's a role model

That’s what they’ll do because a) it’s us and b) they like to over react.

A ban is bollocks, in my humble opinion.

Not when it's perceived as casual racism it isn't, they've made an example of him as he's a big name...if this is gonna go some way in acting as a deterrent to people making casually racist remarks then we should embrace it.

It's not all about Spurs you know...
