Well, once again, with the players, squad and injuries we have, this isn't surprising and it's about what we should expect for the rest of the season. I don't know how people still get so angry at what's been blatantly obvious since before Pochettino was sacked.

For very VERY many reasons, the squad is fucked, all these magical solutions people offer up are just that, fanciful thinking at best. We need new players. Why haven't we signed new players? Why has the squad been allowed to stagnate to this awful degree? Just how ambitious are we to succeed on the pitch.

Look baldwards and ask these questions.
We have. Six of them! How many do you want in a single season? Because I'd wager that much more than that is a bad idea and indeed we've struggled to integrate all of those we have bought at the same time. We couldn't spend while the stadium was ongoing and uncertain, and now it's going to take more than two windows to fix all of our issues. Personally I think one more summer could make a big difference - a ST, a DM and two FBs would be on my list.

Oh and before I forget, could everybody who slaughtered Poch for starting Kane in the CL final instead of Lucas please send him your I'm sorry-cards.

Lol that challenge stinks more every time they show it. Clear as day red card.
I thought it would have got a yellow but the linesman and referee didn't give anything so they couldn't give one retrospectively. Having said that had the ref given a red I have absolutely no doubt VAR would have ok'd it they wouldn't have overturned him.

Yes but we also lost games playing very similarly to how we did today with the both of them and we've only played two games without a striker (or decent focal point), so I certainly wouldn't go as far as saying you can't win games without a striker, not yet anyway. My main frustration with that comment though is how it seems like an excuse to be playing the way we're currently playing.

It's really not good enough, even without a striker and the fact that we performed as such even with a striker suggests that there are fundamental problems with the way we're playing. You say we need a focal point but if you go back and watch Saints away in the league or Chelsea at home even before Son got sent off and tell me how having a focal point in a striker helped any bit, because it really didn't, may as well not have even had Kane in either of them. It's the play behind the striker that's a bigger worry than the striker for me.
We won last weekend with a focal point, and against City ... Since that focal point has been lost that's two losses in two ... Correlation is a bit too much to overlook, no?

Whats the point in asking, people will just defend it saying it's easy to see in hindsight despite us all complaining heavily about it less than a month ago.

Don't know, but my point still hands. He's not gonna be available for 50m. He will be sold for 150. 50 for Dortmund, 100 for Raiola.

What I am saying is we should have been in for him and now be sitting with that same “problem”

I don’t give much of a toss about how much profit we make on a player etc, all I know is there was a genuine talent available, who would work with or without Kane, and who would be virtually priceless for us in this current situation we find ourselves in.

In the scenario you paint above, I see that we spend 50m EUR, enjoy the 40 odd goals he scores for us in the next 18 months, then get 50mEUR back?

I would love it to happen, but in the scenario I paint above, he's not gonna join us, because he doesn't want to spend his early 20s sitting on a bench looking at Kane.

Man utd didnt sign him because they wanted a low release clause so all his family and agent can cash in on him by transferring him all the time. Disgusting that a club has to pay the guys father let alone so much to his agent.

It is disgusting I agree but Dortmund will get their money back along with a shitload of goals

Can we please for once agree that the 3-5 back line is not working out? I mean, coming to Stamford Bridge hoping to grind out a point? Fuvk me that was some poor football to watch. Ruined my weekend

I think its the personel. Whether we play 3, 4 or 5 Tanganga is learning but probably the one I trust the most. The other defenders are error prone or mentally fatigued.

I mean, surely it's worth giving Parrott a chance to see if it works. We literally have no other options.

Lampard has Mourinho's number so easily because he's a fundamentally negative manager. Could have been a decent set up today with midfield and speedy attackers, but he went with a flat back 5. And invariably the full backs would get possession and hoof it as a last resort.

At some point, if he keeps saying his players are a bunch of barely fit no-hopers who can achieve nothing without our injured players, they'll believe him. It's still only February too.

Season seems up to me deserved the loss Wednesday and now today wind in our sails would have been Son but instead it's a leaking ship with a chance of being fed to the Wolves next when we get ashore.

Lamela's cameo was a good positive that was about it. Vertonghen looks like he is on borrowed time let the Mourinho shake up commence in the summer. No striker signed and no one to turn too so Spurs I'm afraid. It's criminal we didn't get anyone in in January doing it on the cheap means we are looking at mid-table mystery is Parrott maybe with Poch a chance but no chance with Mourinho it would seem.

We are playing too much like the underdogs
Absolutely this. For the first time in years I switched off at half time. We seem to play extremely deep trying to be compact and on the counter but we don't have the personnel to do either defend or counter successfully.
