Against City, Liverpool, etc. I'll accept that but against relegation candidates I really don't think so. We're just bad under pressure and playing from the back.
Sorry mate, think you’ll need to be prepared to be very disappointed if you’re expecting us to have 60% possession in many games moving forward. Seems to be working at the moment though.

Agree and I don’t mind us conceding possession, but we need to be more compact and organised defensively. Like Utd were tonight.

At the moment we seem to be relying on quite a bit of last ditch desperation defending, which I don’t think is really sustainable.

I find it really interesting how different people view different players. Take Modric for example, he could be described a a ‘recycler’ as he is more than happy to retain the ball, play the simple pass, keep things ticking over. However, I think what separates the good players and the great players like Modric etc, is that they are doing things for a reason, luring opponents in, setting traps to then be able to play that killer pass. Not all players can do this.

I dont like recycling,I know Modric used to do it too. When I saw his game with RM controlling with positioning and creating from CM I actually liked him more. Not that I didnt like him I just see recycling as less creativity than lets say David Silvas game. I like watching NDombele as he is quick in his decisions to get the ball into space.
I find recycling takes time. Defences get set.
You see less with Liverpool. Everyone does it a certain amount but I like those quick passes in space going forward with someone who has that vision is much better.Modric does that more so these days.

We wouldn't be out of possession if we retained the ball better. Less running. Perfect for N'Dombele, shite for the statzone bloke who fucking LOVES Dele's pointless running around.

LOL unfortunately we're never gonna retain the ball well enough playing counter attacking footall for NDombele not to do any running. He just needs to get fitter. It's not too much to ask our record signing.

Ndombele is amazingly talented, might be our best player technically. God has given him amazing football gifts, but then thought fuck it I'll give him the fitness of a darts player.
He is the unfittest player I've ever seen. The condition he's in right now is barely acceptable for the first week of preseaon.
If he is just naturally supremly unfit, that can be rectified, but it's a hard road and he really needs to be mentally strong to go from what he is to what he could be, which is one of the worlds great players.
Let's hope he puts in the graft.

that's pretty funny.

so talented, but people on here would be pissing themselves if arsenal signed him and he couldn't get through a quarter of a match, after 2/3 of a season.

I've been watching football since the early 90s and I've seen some fat mofos plying their trade in the top flight, but I've never seen a player who looks so dead after 20 minutes of football. It wouldn't be acceptable, but maybe slightly more palatable, if he ran ike a maniac for those 20 minutes, but that's certainly not the case.
On a more positive note if Micky 'watch your doughnuts' Quinn could make it as a fairly useful player, there's still hope for the lad.

Ndombeles passing has been superb. His through ball for the goal was brilliant in his last game. Does he look unfit when he dribbles.
What do mean Arsenal???????
What's that all about????

tipple of choice tonight?

??

Really you can read some if the things I've said if NDombele.Yes he needs to get fitter but I'd rather see a half a game if NDombele than a bunch if our other players the Arsenal analogy was not called for. I would never laugh at a quality player like NDombele even if he was an Arsenal player.
Too many soldiers these days too few specialists

Doubt he’ll get more than 20 minutes as a sub on Wednesday. If that.

Gio (who I'm pretty sure will start against Leipzig) and Gedson (who won't) being subbed on ahead of him yesterday is a clear message: Dier and Winks are in the first XI ahead of you. And you're not first or even second choice off the bench.

Why is it a clear message. The fact he used Gedson before NDombele for Villa means nothing.

Last year he played 49 games averaging almost 80 minutes per game, the year before 50 games averaging 70 minutes per game. The drop off is incredible and has to be more than just fitness.

A little different lifestyle maybe, he's probably making 10x his previous income.

I remember in the first game against Bayern, that first 30 minutes he created enough chances for us to be 3 or 4-0 up. It was one of the best performances that I have seen from a Tottenham player. Champions league maybe suits him better. Either way he needs to get fit. Its like having Maradona in the team.

With the Son injury news, my stance on Ndombele not being injured but also not being in a condition to regularly play meaningful minutes in matches had changed from "I'll be fucking furious if we're still saying this at the end of the season" to "if you're not in shape to be selected for the first team very soon indeed then you can start handing back your £200k/week wages so that we can at least fund a few bribes to the lads at Stockley Park to cover the handicap we're suffering from being one unnecessary extra man down in a badly stretched squad". Get yourself in the team, or stop taking a king's ransom for not being in it, Tanguy.

On reflection, the Son injury makes the Ndombele situation even more infuriating. If Son picked up the injury early in the game as has been suggested then that means that he stayed on the pitch and played through the pain (including being the player still alive enough to run through and score our winner in the 94th minute), and in contrast we're seeing an uninjured Ndombele just not in a condition to play matches.

It's shit like this that really drags me over to the other side of the line, I am fucking furious with Ndombele now. Sort your shit out, you unprofessional tart.
