Yea it could be that in this physical away game in poor conditions he thinks Dier could really help whereas in CL and against Chelsea we will need the more mobile passer type midfielders

Yes! I think you are spot on. Players used to a windy wet English winter day are probably best suited to this game. At least for the first hour

It might be scrappy today considering the conditions but 1-0 to the Tottenham works for me.

I genuinely don't know what to expect.

So I'll roll with "the worst" and hope for a nice surprise.

I think he will be in there to put a few hard tackles on Grealish. His pride will want to show this young upstart who is running the CM today.

2 or 3 years ago that may have been feasible, but sadly these days Dier can’t even get close enough to the opposition to foul them.

this time last year most people, me included would have said that about the Dortmund tie and look what happened. This is a game in conditions like these that you just got to hope things fall your way and we get over the line in whatever way we can.

RBL are flying and are a phenomenally well organised team. Dortmund were similar to us, decent but unpredictable. Whereas this season we’ve had no identity and been consistently poor. We’ve also got no recognised striker, at least last season we had a target man in Llorente.

yeah I can’t say I’m confident. We can move to within a point of Chelsea if we win. I’m too used to seeing us fold under the smallest bit of pressure when we have to win.

Winks + Lo Celso are a joy to watch as they quickly interchange passes and it’s a case of pass and move progressive football. They share similar skill sets albeit Lo Celso has a higher ceiling.

Winks + Dier is a train wreck. Dier has no composure, poor passing and runs in treacle.
