He does look like he’s both lacking tone and pretty chunky in that pic.

Maybe it’s unflattering but blimey, doesn’t do much to calm the nerves
He's either a little overweight or he's found some Aaron Lennon training kit in the changing rooms and is a big fan!

Once his fitness is sorted he will be the best CM in Europe. His talent is fucking unbelievable, in my opinion he has more to his game than Modric and look at how far he went.

Barring anymore injury fuck ups I think next season we will see the best of him, the kid is?

I also remember a certain Moussa Dembele being a bit chubbier when poch arrived. He wasn't poch fit by any means.

However if you look at the evolution of Dembele in terms of his fitness, his overall game went to another level when we had a lean Dembele.

This is the case for N'Dombele too, he needs the time and dedication to adapt and adjust. It takes time more time than people think. If the body does dramatically change shape, it also takes time to adapt to the new shape and How to move more efficiently.

This is why I am not worried about Tanguy. He's got skills for days, and bodies in his path, pure instincts. This can never be coached. He's one of our own now and we need to support him, because the talent is there. He needs the fans on his side to make the ride easier for him. Otherwise, with everyone on his case, and applying too much pressure too soon, could also lead to an unhappy ending, as we could push him away and then watch him rip everyone apart in the next few years.

PATIENCE!
PATIENCE!
PATIENCE!

Let's ride the season out however we can. I trust Jose, and what he wants to do with our squad. I am sure he is just as frustrated as us fans. A manager not being able to select one of their best players due to fitness concerns, is just as frustrating.

However Jose is supporting Tanguy and is in his plans so us fans should back our manager, club and our players fully...

To Dare Is To Do....

COYS!

The overreaction to one photo is ridiculous.

The guy is the most talented footballer we have at the club. First season here ffs.

They were referring to some training pics today. Couldn't see it myself. But I guess there are some extreme athletes and Adonis' here on SC who see someone like him and claim he is fat based on their standards of body excellence. By which standard I'd be a cross between Jabba the Hut and The Blob.

His body type is what it is. He most certainly is not fat, obese, overweight or even husky.

This fat thing is just that... A thing. That if repeated enough times, somehow becomes fact. It's not. He's an elite baller dealing with an annoying litany of nagging fitness issues. Some of which I'm sure is mental and some very much true.

Want fat? Think Micky-chuffing-Quinn. And as for those slamming him for being the chap who ate all the pies... Get a grip and get behind him... He's one of our boys, and we look after our own.
Haaa, remarkable that some posters on here can see through 2 or 3 layers of clothing

My God this is the most dramatic thread I've ever seen. The guys out of shape, thats clear as fucking day. Its not injuries, he's just not fit. People aren't sitting outside of his house yelling him that he's fat. This is a Spurs forum, its perfectly fine to criticise people making millions of dollars for not being physically able to perform their job. And its irrelevant what kind of physical shape any of us are in.

Ah the new Lamela thread, there's always one thread on here where the nutcases seem to reside, that's what probably attacked me to it tbh. :cautious:

Don't care about photos or any perceptions of his body shape, good or bad. All I give a shit about is that he is clearly an immensely talented player with a natural gift for moving the ball that is a level above many, many other players, but who - for whatever reasons - hasn't so far been in a condition to be consistently selected and play 70+ minutes per game for a majority of our games. I'm not really too fussed in assigning blame for those reasons, but I am very fucking keen that we get those reasons sorted so that Ndombele can be on the pitch for long stretches week after week, and be in a position where he can utilise that natural talent for the purposes of consistently making us a better team.

Whatever the reasons are, we just need to find a solution, and if one of those reasons does turn out to be Ndombele's application in getting himself mentally and physically fit to play, then he's got to get that sorted sharpish because it's no good having all that skill if he can never be on the pitch to show it. (Likewise, if there's something that other people at the Club are doing - maybe the coaching staff with training schemes or the physio staff with management of fitness niggles etc - then they need to step up and find a solution.) Don't care for finger pointing, but everyone involved has to start doing whatever it's going to take to get Ndombele playing regularly so that we as a team can feel the benefit.

You can have all the talent and ability in the world but without the commitment it means nothing .
Whilst I am exited by what this man brings to the table I have my doubts he has the will to make it hope I am 100% wrong.

I worry that Ndombele is an example of that saying “you can take a horse to water but you can’t make it drink”. I reckon both Poch and now Mourinho and their teams of coaches are/were doing all in their power to get him fully match fit and are apparently failing/failed. I fear Ndombele may not have the right mentality to be as good as he can be. I hope I am as usual 100% wrong.

He passed a medical so he can’t be that unfit. I just hope he has a better work ethic than Janssen as they both came from lower league football with the latter failing to make the physical expectations grade.

Picking it over many other things because if the quality
Id rather watch NDombele for 10 minutes than any of the recyclers for an hour

Mans a genius (Really!!) imagine if Jose played him for 20 minutes instead if 15 imagine what he could do!!

Just watched. He is the Moussa replacement we've been looking for...perhaps he felt he need to replicate Demeble's injury record as well as his skills ;)

But give the boy some time - lots of players take a while to settle in a new country and league - and he's got a new manager...how would you react at the age of 23?!

Let's give him some support - he needs it and deserves it as a Spurs player

Personally I think he usnt anything like Dembele. Yes it's the CM position but NDombele is totally creative and unique.
Dembele is an excellent player but much more conservative than NDombele. Great with ball retention good with dribbling too but much much less dynamic than NDombele. Dembele was a tough player a strong defender and a physical player with nimble feet. NDombele an artist.
