The state of things when men who are probably over 250lbs themselves are critiquing the shape of a guy from a picture taken at an odd angle. Good lord.
Tbf those fat blokes aren't getting paid £175,000 a week.

You don't have to be a filmmaker to say a film is shit or a chef to say a meal is disgusting. If an extremely well paid footballer is not making the effort to get into top shape then it's perfectly fair for fans to criticise him, even if said fans do look like Dennis Nedry...

Personally I'm wondering if this is just his natural body shape. There are loads of footballers who never look svelte and athletic even at the peak of their powers - England's all time top goalscorer being one of of them.

Anybody who saw the condition of Harry when he has come back from injury can tell you he looked fit and well conditioned its called commitment . If you look at this man he does not have the appearance of a super fit athlete .This is not having a pop at Ndombele its just that his appearance does not help the doubters its just a fact he looks overweight for a top athlete .
There is only one player I can remember who was good with the same physical appearance and that was Jan Molby but he was not required to run up and down the pitch Liverpool just used as a conduit who stood in the middle of the field and took passes from defenders and made forward passes . Unfortunately you must be able to get about the pitch in todays football .
For all the skill and ability Ndombele has a problem with either diet or unable to commit fully to a fitness regime .
I am scared to say too much otherwise you get called out for " having a pop at a great talent "
HE NEEDS TO LOSE WEIGHT

I’ve defended him for 8 months but I’ve really no idea how people can carry on defending this. He’s been at the club 8 months and can’t complete 90 minutes of football. How in anyway is that acceptable ? Yes players may need time adjust to the pace of PL. But there’s really no excuse that player can’t play a full game or even get to HT without looking shattered. He’s overweight it’s not the picture, do you see any other players looking fat ?

Well that's a lie seeing as Ndombele has completed as many 90 minutes of League football as Sessegnon and Lo Celso this season. I don't mind players getting a hammering but don't make things up to suit your opinion on the matter.

You can see from that video that he capable of doing things that others can't. Which is what makes him exceptional. That is why it is worth investing time and patience into helping him get his body and mind right when it comes to fitness and focus. 'Cos if we can get that part of his game fully aligned, consistent, and for a sustained period of time, you have one of the best midfielders in the PL and in Europe. He's like Moussa Dembele, but with better passing and shooting ability.

The sort of things he can do on instinct alone, can't be taught or trained into someone. You can either do it, or you can't. He is in an elite league when it comes to raw skills. I hope he knows that, and has the drive to be one of the best. 'Cos that's what will keep him from being a cautionary tale of unrealized potential versus a player determined to show the world, that he is good, if not better, than anyone in his position.

the great thing about Ndombele is that the only question ability wise is whether he’s brilliant or amazing. Everyone can see it. It’s just a big concern that he arrived for a full pre season and still doesn’t look fit 8 months later. And not in a ‘lacking in match sharpness post injury’ way but a ‘blowing like a Sunday League plodder after an hour’ kind of way. Like you said, if he sorts that out the sky’s the limit

Sessegnon is a young fringe player ridiculous comparison. And Lo Celso has only just been given a chance. I seriously have no idea how anyone can question that he isn’t fit.

Clearly he isn't but he's had groin, hip and hamstring injuries since he joined the club, the first injuries he's had in his career I believe hasn't made the matchday squad on 12 occasions and has just joined from the French league. Sessegnon is used to the English game, a few seasons ago I believe Tanguy was playing for Amiens in Ligue 2 let's give him time to adjust.

He's started 3 games for us, he's barely had a chance to get into a groove and the English game is gruelling compared to anything he's probably used to. I actually don't see him as looking fat, I just see him as struggling to keep up with the game for long spells and I think we need to treat him like a young player who doesn't speak the language finding his way in a forgeign country for the first time, in a foreign league.

We can all see his enormous talent, let's be positive about him and see how he develops over the coming months, it's still early days.

Danny Rose (interviewed by BBC): "The signings the club did make this season, like [Tanguy] Ndombele - give it time but he's one of the future. He's awesome."

And that was unprompted. He wasn't asked about Ndombele.

We're just going to have to be patient. We're not going to see the best of him until next season. It's frustrating but that's the reality. If nothing changes by the end of the year, we have a problem.

Some of our fans are absolutely awful.

He is an awesome talent setting in a new country and League, he is getting over injury issues.

What do some of our fans do, try and rip him apart and give him some body complex. Great.

How can fans ask any loyalty from players when they do this, it’s tragic.

People keep saying he looks fat, has anyone got any pics to prove this ?
They were referring to some training pics today. Couldn't see it myself. But I guess there are some extreme athletes and Adonis' here on SC who see someone like him and claim he is fat based on their standards of body excellence. By which standard I'd be a cross between Jabba the Hut and The Blob.

His body type is what it is. He most certainly is not fat, obese, overweight or even husky.

This fat thing is just that... A thing. That if repeated enough times, somehow becomes fact. It's not. He's an elite baller dealing with an annoying litany of nagging fitness issues. Some of which I'm sure is mental and some very much true.

Want fat? Think Micky-chuffing-Quinn. And as for those slamming him for being the chap who ate all the pies... Get a grip and get behind him... He's one of our boys, and we look after our own.

Wow. I do t know what British google image is like but in France you can find thousands of photos of Ndombele that way. Doesn’t see fat to me in any. Literally a svelte individual. Amazing how fact free people’s drama is. Has thé UK always been so dumb? This is American level ignorance (trolololol).

Anyway. He’s clearly not fit enough. But that doesn’t make him the overweight keyboard warrior you are. ?

Mebbe it would be 'tragic' if Ndombele spoke English or ever came on SC to see the opinions here...but as he doesn't, the tragedy you speak of is entirely non existent .

He does look like he’s both lacking tone and pretty chunky in that pic.

Maybe it’s unflattering but blimey, doesn’t do much to calm the nerves
