The big problem is that too many people these days (especially the kids of today) are so desperate to be popular and funny that they will do anything to get a laugh. It drives me mad to see it happening and what the human race is becoming.
Honestly have you seen the video? The problem with social media is everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

It's weird how people can generalise about a whole group of people like that. There's obviously some dumb ones, but there are a load of intelligent sportspeople as well. You see them on TV all the time.
Problem is people just don't try to work things out. Just come out with simple statements with no context.

Young kids who excel at sport will often put more time and energy into playing sport than academics. To succeed in a professional football career requires kids to not go to college or university and dedicate themselves to the sport to stand any chance so little to no further education either.

Then take into account that active players are very young in the big scheme of things and haven't fully formed a lot of their character yet.

So there is reason to think many footballers are stupid but a little thought and it isn't hard to work out the situation.

There are many very intelligent footballers and sportspeople. Vertonghen, Dembele are very intelligent blokes. I've seen many articulate interviews with guys like Juan Mata and Trent Alexander.

Dele Alli isn't one of them though, he is as thick as mince. What he did was dumb. It's basic common sense if you are household name not to even put yourself in that position, they all have PR training. Just apply some thought.

I don't think it warrants any punishment or heavy handed admonishment. I don't think it was meant in any racist way. It happened and he has apologised .

But it was downright dumb.

Agree. Just look at me. The body of an elite athlete and the mind of Stephen Hawkins after a big bowl of porridge. Don’t misjudge, it hurts us

When does fear
I think he is actually quite mature and intelligent but prone to acts of stupidity occasionally like most of us

He must be quite mature and intelligent sometimes to do some of the things he does on the field with the ball and his defensive work. But he could be a lot more. Im not sure what the problem is,,I dont think he can matured that much,he should be further ahead by now. Im talking mostly in his football but it all spills over.

Sure it was a stupid thing to do, but I don't think Alli himself is "as thick as mince". Yes he made a tasteless joke but from what I read he sent it out to friends and presumably one of them sold it to the press. Again, not a wise thing to do, but also the kind of thing people both famous and non-famous do all of the time, especially when they're young and immature. I've seen interviews with Alli and, while he's certainly no Mata or Cudicini, he's far from a complete moron. I just think he had a lapse of judgement and did something dumb.

Now Aurier calling his manager a "f****t" and insulting teammates on a live video chat to fans...that's as thick as mince.

No it doesn't spill over.
Hugo Lloris did a far worse thing to what Alli did many would say he's mature on the pitch but he broke the law.

There are much more examples of footballers doing things in their footballing career that doesn't add up.

He's not a bigot, he's just a silly boy. I'm glad this happened because it'll be the making of him. Since his golden boy arrival in the top flight he's been basking in it and languishing in a comfort zone doing just enough to keep the shine on while barely progressing at all, as a footballer and as a person. This'll be the rocket up his arse he needs, which will humble him but he's tough enough to weather the brickbats. Worth it cos I still believe he's way short of his ceiling, lots of room to play with, and I think Mourinho does too. Ban Dele Alli!

Thought 'the making of him' was meant to be from the fallout after his 'flicking the finger' incident.

I thought he'd shown a lot of maturity this season. He spoke well when Poch left, he responded well to the Dele's brother challenge and tried to separate players during the penalty scuffle against City.

This cesspit needs football back in the worst way. From posters claiming Ndombele is now morbidly obese, to people up at arms over Dele‘s apparently private video getting posted by a shifty friend, think a lot you need to either get laid (not an option) or just take a break in the meantime. It’s all just really strange.

Apparently he was relieved of an expensive watch in Dubai a few days ago.

Not sure it's dubai. People are saying it was brixton. With reference to a well known street. So I've heard it was a Richard mille. There is a video of the guy who robbed it with the watch. So the story goes its a guy (I won't mention his street name) who goes to high level parties to releive the rich of their goodies. It was said that dele offered 30k to get it back. To which that was also taken. Then there was a 3rd incident which he got milked too. The original incident I understand was that he was honey trapped by a girl and when he pulled up he was robbed.

I presume its in Brixton as I live a spit away from there and a lot of locals have been talking about it. The videos are doing the rounds on what's app, so you will probably see them.

Seems strange that he'd be in Brixton on his own with a 100k watch and 30k cash on him but maybe footballers are that stupid
