Jimmy Greaves is the greatest goalscorer English football has ever seen and now Sportsmail is launching a campaign for his achievements to be honoured. Greaves will be 80 this month and there is a wonderful new documentary out which pays tribute to his life.

Greavsie should get an honour, but he won't.

If they don't give a knighthood to the first man to manage a british team to a european trophy and the first in the modern era to manage a team to win the double then they certainly won't give one to the greatest ever english goalscorer.

To get a knighthood you either have to:
a) be in a world cup-winning team, or
b) be scottish and/or associated with Man Utd.

Fucking cheek after he nicked Jimmy's hat trick v the Bosch in 66. ;)

Jimmy would probably have scored 5 though.
